We did the one-day Express tour with Easter Island Travel. They were incredibly communicative in the lead up to the tour. Yeni was our tour guide and she was fantastic - she had so much knowledge and a passion for sharing the history of the Rapa Nui people. We really got a sense of the local culture, both past and present.

We had a wonderful 2 days with Eric. I can’t believe how much we saw in 2 days but also never felt rushed. Learned so much, so many beautiful places and now photos for us to bring back to remember. What made this trip extra special was Eric being Rapanui and all the stories of him growing up and his grandparents, great-grandparents’ stories etc. I am so grateful we were able to discover Rapa Nui with someone truly connected to the land.

When planning our first visit to Easter Island, I found it difficult to determine which tour guide company to choose. I spent hours just trying to figure out what sites we should focus on, etc. However, I am so glad that I relied on the stellar reviews from Tripadvisor because this tour made our entire trip! My husband and I traveled in mid-December with our two children, ages 7 and 9. I emailed Easter Island Travel and got prompt responses from Alberto. I booked a 2-day private tour to get all of the highlights of the island (tours A and B on their website). The cost was quite reasonable given that it was a private tour for just our family which I much prefer with our children in case they need a break, want snacks, etc. Alberto picked us up in a huge van with cold water bottles each day. The van was clean and comfortable, and had great A/C.
My husband and I speak a fair amount of Spanish. Alberto speaks fluent and perfect English. I don't say this to be elitist. However, it was important to me that my children (who speak no Spanish) understood and were engaged during the tour. Moreover, it became apparent during the tour that some of the explanations about colonization, engineering, and historical events would have been much harder to explain for someone who is not fluent in English.
Alberto is patient, easy going, and a pleasure to spend time with. He was wonderful with my children and made the information digestible for them. When we came home from our trip, our kids went into incredible detail about what they learned during our tour, all thanks to Alberto. On our second day, one of our kids wasn't feeling well and he changed the order of the tour just to make sure we got to the highlights in case we needed to end the day early.
While on our tours, we saw many other people with guides that did not seem enthusiastic and that were struggling with English explanations. Please believe me when I say that your guide will really make or break your experience of this magical place. Make the choice to go with Alberto, you won't be sorry! We are so grateful to have a much better appreciation of the island and its culture due to Alberto's fantastic tour.

We had a fantastic time in this trip with our lovely guide Etienne. We really enjoyed the tour and we have seen so many of this wonderful Island.

Alberto arranged four different tours for us during our visist to Ester Island. All were very good, as were the tour guides. There is lots to see on Rapa Nui, but we got to see alot thanks to Alberto and his team. We also apprecited his flexibility, as we had to change some of our plans.

We did Tour A: Journey of Legends and Tour B Megaliths and it covered so much! We got a wonderful guide- Wai, she was excelently aknlowledged about the local culture. We felt we learned a lot about the history of Rapa Nui and the Moai! I would higly recommend Easter Island Travel as they are a local agency, well organized and well informed!

Well worth the 5 hour flight from Santiago! Very cool Pacific island vibe - without huge commercial / hotel developments. And, of course the Moai are totally breathtaking - arguably on par with the pyramids and tombs of Egypt. Small island, so easy to get around and see everything they have to offer. Plan for maybe 3 full days. Must see!

Took their tour of the west and north sides of the island and wasn't disappointed - brilliant guide (Zoe) and the itinerary was thorough, well-paced and had a good logical flow to it. Definitely recommend

We were treated to a comprehensive, thoughtful tour by Kohu, who grew up in Rapa Nui and has big ambitions to improve the horticulture and ecosystems of the island. He showed us his farm and shared a lot about daily life on the island. His knowledge of archeological and oral history of the Rapa Nui people was incredible, and being a private tour, we got to hear a lot more of it. To top it off, his father is the archaeologist who was a driving force behind restoring the 15 Moai, and his personal view of it really brought Rapa Nui's past and current culture to life!

Why are you not responding to customers who have had to cancel due to Coronavirus who have requested refunds up to five weeks ago?

Can you please advise when the refunds will be paid to people from the cancelled Sea Princess cruise on 10th August 2020? I have enquired about having the tour transferred to a cruise next year for 4 of us but after no confirmation back would prefer a refund now. Many on the tour have sent emails but haven’t received any replies to the numerous emails. There may be a valid reason for this , so please advise.

My wife and I are Seniors and my wife has limitations on walking. Are there tours that will allow us to see all the main attractions but with limited walking?

There are indeed tours you could opt into. You could also simply rent a car, bicycle, or scooter. I think there may have even been ATV's or something similar that are options as well.
There's very little traffic on the island so driving there is easy.

Buongiorno, il prossimo anno trascorrerò un soggiorno dal 17 al 21 Giugno sull'Isola di Pasqua. Vorrei capire se sia meglio affidarsi ad un'agenzia che ci faccia visitare tutti i siti (quindi optando eventualmente per un tour di più di un giorno o se possa essere sufficiente fare un giorno solo e poi girare da soli. Grazie e..... Buon Natale

Il vantaggio di avere un tour guidato e' avere qualcuno che ti spiega la storia dell'isola e aneddoti che non trovi sulle guide. Ti conviene fare i primi 2 gg guidati e poi andare a vedere il resto per conto tuo...

Hi Adelmo, thank you for your question! Our group tours are only bilingual English - Spanish, and not in Italian. If you'd like an Italian speaking guide, I'd suggest you request a private tour, and we'll see what we can do.

Would you mind us asking how long you stayed in Easter Island please? We are planning our tour and have limited time as well. We many land at 1pm on the first day and are thinking of leaving at 3pm on the following day. If we get private tour, would it be enough time please?

I'd recommend a minimum stay of 5 days / 4 nights, because then you would have two full days to do tours around the island to see the main highlights, and then a third day to do any activity of your choice (hiking, caving, diving, surfing, shopping, working on the tan, having an ice-cream etc).

Hola Mario. Particularmente como la estadía es corta, recomiendo tomar tours para conocer a toda la isla de manera mas eficiente posible. Mas flexibilidad hay en tours privados, que en este caso seria necesario. Mejor comprar esto con minimo un mes de anticipacion, para poder hayan cupos aun.
Los 5 lugares mas importantes son Orongo, Rano Kau, Rano Raraku, Ahu Tongariki y Anakena. Estos sitios se cubren en nuestro tour llamado "Express".
Aun que estos son los mas grandes, hay muchos otros lugares que tambien son importantes que seria una pena no ver, despues de haber viajado tan lejos. Por eso recomendamos siempre minimo hacer los dos tours "Tour A: Travesía Legendaria" y "Tour B: Megalitos", para asi poder conocer la isla de manera mucho mas completa. Saludos!
