Situated at the center of the old village of Stoneham, this small church is a nice start for a day trek. situated at 1 hour to the ski center.

Igreja que adorna o centro de Stoneham, além desta igreja não ha muito mais a ver no centro da vila, entretanto seu entorno é maravilhoso, especialmente no Outono quanto as folhagens verdes aos poucos vão passando para amarelo e vermelho antes de caírem.... Para quem est em Quebec e tem tempo vale a pena ir até esta cidade e se perder pelas inúmeras estradinhas que serpenteiam as montanhas da região.

This place is the heart of the village of Stoneham-and-Tewkesbury. You will find St-Edmond Church which is not very big but nice with some stained glass windows.
The presbytery and its barn have both have been converted. The presbytary is now part of the city offices and some of original aspects were kept (wood work, chimney, etc.) while the barn can be rented for private functions and is also used for some shows (music, counts, etc.).
You can also find the cemetary, the ice skating rink, soccer and baseball fields. The river can also be accessed by foot from the soccer and baseball fieds (walk alongside the fence and you'll see the entrance)
Just accross the street you find the 2 schools (old and new ones), the post office, and also a chocolate factory that also sells ice cream in the summer months.

My family recently returned to Stoneham, Quebec for a wake/ reunion. We have relatives still living in the area and we came to bury our parents in the family plot in St Edmond Parish Cemetery. The church is still as lovely as I remembered it, and the village has maintained its quant and friendly ways. For a view at small town old Quebec life, Stoneham cannot be surpassed. Surrounded by mountains and blessed by fresh clean air and rivers, you can ski, play golf, go white water rafting or horseback riding, visit a spa or a pub, hike and fish or enjoy fine dining nearby. You can be in Quebec City in 20 minutes to enjoy all that city has to offer.

Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury est une belle ville située à la porte de la réserve faunique des Laurentides. Plusieurs lacs et rivières dont la plus connue, la rivière Jacques Cartier. Également de nombreux monts dont le Mont Wright(sentiers pédestres, gratuit).
La Place de l'Église comprend l'Église St-Edmond(1911), le presbytère(1875), le cimetière et la Grange du presbytère. Nous avons fait la découverte de ces lieux lors du marché de Noël de la Jacques Cartier. J'ai bien aimé le secteur de la Grange. Belle ambiance de Noël. Ce marché nous permet de découvrir de nombreux produits d'artisans locaux et produits du terroir de la région. Ce marché a lieu deux week end par année en décembre.
Belle féerie de Noël avec les belles petites maisons joliment décorées. On a pu visiter la Grange. Pour l'occasion, celle-ci abritait des artisans vendant leurs produits. La Grange du presbytère est utilisée pour des évènements et comme salle de spectacle pour de petites productions.
A la Place de l'Église, le parc des Fondateurs avec une grande patinoire en hiver. Près de la Place de l'Église, l'église anglicane St-Peter(1839) et son cimetière d'immigrants ainsi que la chapelle presbytérienne Campbell Hall, église anglicane datant de 1860.
