I love visiting vineyards, but that place still exceeded my expectations! Our guide (son of the owner) was amazing, his sense of humour made us laugh not once or twice! You can see the employees during their work, nothing is played for the tourists. The tasting was amazing, we were given a lot of different wines to taste. They were all super tasty. Why is it so hard to get Lebanese wine outside Lebanon?

We had another great visit to the Château Héritage and this time we were joined with our very good friends from the States as they were visiting Lebanon for the first time.
We had a nice tour of the Winery and Wine Cellar and then we had a great Wine Tasting session up in their large tasting area. Château Héritage offers one of the generous wines tastings than any other winery in Lebanon, as in a few cases we asked for another sampling and they were offered quite substantially.
Their selection of wines is quite extensive and I have found that the Château Héritage wines overall are quite more flavorsome than many of their competitors.
Once again it was a lovely afternoon at the very nice Château Héritage Winery.

I visited Chateau Heritage as part of a day trip arranged via Living Lebanon. We were showed the premises by Mahir who was delightful and very amusing. We tried around ten different wines in total. Brilliant!

Chateau heritage is a very cosy boutique winery with a very kind staff and owner who make you feel at your own place

I have been enjoying the many Lebanese wineries since my retirement from Qatar in 2010 and yesterday I enjoyed if not the best Lebanese Winery or it is in the top three in all of Lebanon! The name is Chateau Heritage and is located in the famous Bakaa Valley at 31-33 rue Jean Jaures. There is a very small sign board on the road and you simply make a right hand turn and it is about 50 meters up the hill on the right side.
The winery was originally founded by the Touma family and still today is owned and operated by the three great-grand sons of the founder. We were very lucky to have a tour and wine tasting by one of the three great grand son's and his knowledge of the wine business is great and very informative. The winery itself is located in an old school and has a large basement, big central courtyard and two floors of the winery. They have a restaurant and very, very large tasting room.
The Chateau seems to specialize in red's and yet they do have several very nice white wines such as their solid Chardonnay blended with Cinsault and a fantastic Blanc de Blancs. We did not taste their Rose, but maybe next time, we will have the opportunity, Inshalla. They have six red wines of which one is a sweet wine. Their lowest priced red wine, and yet it is quite solid, is called: "Nine", and as the name implies composed of nine different varietals! We tried their two "top-of-the-line" reds the first is mid priced 2011 Chateau Heritage - Chateau aged in oak barrels and a fantastic 2008 Chateau Heritage - Family Reserve which really great! Both top reds are made with a different percentage of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
All their wines are reasonably priced by Lebanese standards.
I strongly suggest that you locate this very, very good Lebanese Winery and make a visit. Their web site has a very nice and detailed map which makes you finding their location quite easy.
