久聞南投竹山紫南宮的盛名，
尤其是求發財金的部份，
特地來向神明借錢，
祈求自己未來ㄧ年，
財運亨通，
今天非常幸運地結了緣，
順利借到了600元喔！
第一次丟出聖杯，
可得，
丟到第六次是100元，
最多可以丟六次，
今天也求了發財雞，
願自己未來ㄧ年都平平安安，
ㄧ切順順利利，
我們終於拜完要離開時，
人潮洶湧和車潮絡繹不絕，
令人感動！
尤其是求發財金的部份，

祈求自己未來ㄧ年，

每年必來求發財金的行程，沾沾土地公的好運跟財運；求發財金最好避開過年，因為人真的很多……會大塞車。。。。

This is a well known temple to give away “seed money” or let people borrow some seed money to make you rich. I just watched it from the TV few days ago but have not been here yet. Anyway, it’s a raining Sunday when we drove down here. It’s a small temple (actually much smaller that I had expected) but full of people, it’s so crowd that you almost need to squeeze in to worship or pay your respect to the gods. Interesting to find a lot of so called “ FREE” parking on your way to the temple. I was told it’s not really FREE because they expect you to buy stuff there to go to the temple. The symbol “logo” of the temple is the “gold hen with gold egg”. We bought one and had it prayed for our mom.

If you were one of those unsuspecting travellers such as myself, you would be rather bemused with the arrangements here. However, locals don't think so. Zi Nan Temple is known all over Taiwan as a hotspot for believers to ask for luck and fortune from the local Deity. The whole idea is that you would ask the local Deity for a loan through a ritual of throwing "dice" of chance, and the "dice" would indicate to you how much loan the Temple is willing to grant you. And with the money that you have gotten, you would then put it into good use for investment purpose, and after one financial year is over, if you are being successful, then, you would return to the Temple to repay the loan and at the same time, paying back dividend to the Temple as a mean of showing gratitude. Here, you are expected to burn the incense and the paper money but due to its popularity, you only need to set your paper money aside and that the staff would help you with that later on. For business people, they would part with TWD of 3,600 to get a statue of a lucky chicken from the Temple, and that they would display the local symbol at their place of work for good luck. All the rituals here would mean naught for overseas visitors but for those of you that are interested in local culture, this is a Temple worth visiting to understand what made the local community ticks. Commendable visit.

竹山「紫南宮」，算是我最長造訪的地方了！
雖然路途有點「遠」，但⋯⋯我還蠻喜歡去的～
尤其是這一次一行的友人在當地購買了「刮刮樂」，都有發了一點小財！
讓我們一行人增添了一點「小確辛」～

紫南宮是台灣非常有名的財神廟，香火鼎盛，人聲鼎沸，週邊形成市集商圈販售南投名產和其他商品，個人覺得踩點逛逛還不錯。
