It was about 2 miles each way, so 4 miles total. It was a bit of a scrambling and a climb up a rock with a rope and also up a little ladder. The rope was a bit intense for our kids (6 & 9), but they can be less than adventurous at times. Other than that it, it was a nice trip. Maybe check with the rangers?

It is a relatively unimproved gravel road that is a little rough in places, but easily navigated by a 2-wheel drive conventional sedan. Just take it slow to save your back. Road was fine in mid-October (but check local conditions in Panamint Springs if there have been recent cloud bursts.)

Road conditions vary... but my Honda CRV did just fine. Most of the other cars at the trail head were trucks... except for the one sedan.

There's a sign posted at the parking lot that specifically says no dogs. There are other areas in the park that allow dogs.

Absolutely not. Loose gravel 2/3rds of the way, then narrow branch-choked paths and creek crossings with muddy banks.

You could do it. The road is dirt and washboard. Its is wide enough for your rig but you might have to stop and pull to the side to let an oncoming driver get by. The parking lot is probably big enough, but you could pull off the road to park. It will be a little tricky to turn around (multipoint turn). If it is your only option to get out there, then you could make it. You wouldn't get stuck if that is your concern.
