We visited the Angostura as part of a social event while on a business trip. We learned very much that day about the biggest collection of butterflies ever owned by one person which was then bought by Angostura and which has an amazing display in one of their rooms. The best part of the trip was the informative guide we got about Trinidad's greatest rum called Bitters which has a taste like no other and a secret recipe that has been kept since generations. After the guide we got to taste different types of rum which all had quite of a punch to them, if you know what I mean. All in all a very nice trip from which you learn lots about the rum history and more about Trinidad. But just don't expect to actually see how the rum is being manufactured, because otherwise you will be disappointed. When in Trinidad and you have enough time with a group of people a visit to this place would be a nice experience, especially for those wanting to learn more about the history of certain places.

Took the opportunity of our yearly trip to T&T to visit the Angostura factory & museum with relatives.
Visit lasted a solid 2 hours and finished with a cocktail prepared in front of us by their mixologist, Raymond who took the time to explain in details how tough was his job, travelling around the world, learning and promoting his company...😎😎😎
You finish the tourin the shop where u can purchase their famous brands...🥃🥃🥃

Of course you go because it is a distillery and it is well worth a visit to not only taste and experience, but to understand the history of this place. While the person showing us around and giving us the rum said rum should have a bite, I found the Amaro more to my liking and it would be perfect at holiday time. Hints of orange, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice, it was lovely.

The tour was just average. We went through alot of the history of the brewery rather than actually seeing much of how it was manufactured. There was a very random butterfly exhibit and several staged bars with different themes. The lunch was decent, however we were hoping to sample different kinds of rum.

The Angostura facility and museum themselves are really quite impressive. We learnt quite a bit of history along the way. However, unfortunately, or tour started an hour late which meant we missed out in some key parts of the regular tour i.e the production line was on their lunch break etc. Our tour guide was not very apologetic and didn't seem to understand and appreciate our time and plans for the rest of the day. Even with the late start, better time management would have made the tour so much better. Sad to say the best part for us was the sampling of the products at the end.

Whenever you are visiting this Museum kindly request Mr. Jamal as the Bartender and Ms. Yvette as your tour guide. They definitely displayed true Trini hospitality with a smile, grace and lots of laughter. You can feel the warmth of their personalities while they performed their duties in a professional manner while imparting knowledge about the establishment. I will visit again as it was a great experience.

We went as a group of mixed ex pats and were very impressed with the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with confidence. All of the staff were extremely friendly and even the people working on the barrels outside encouraged us to join them for photographs despite their busy workload. This was a fascinating glimpse into the history and current processes involved with Trinidad's most unique export. This tour is suitable for all ages as there is a small golf cart style buggy which took us around the outdoor area so mobility is not really a problem apart from walking upstairs to view the bottling area, but this does not detract from the tour as it is optional. I will definitely go back again when we have visitors coming from overseas.

You have to book ahead and luckily we (a group of 3) were able to join a tour. It's a very informative and enjoyable way to spend a morning. We got to see the barrel-making as well as other processes. Thoroughly recommended.

I try to visit a distillery wherever I travel; it's just my "thing"! Angostura did not disappoint! The tour guide was very informative and the butterfly room (and butterflies) were beautiful. The tour guide gives very informative information about the history of bitters and its founders. You get to go into the area where the bitters are made and the smell is nothing short of heavenly! lol You also get a chance to go into the bottling area to view the intricate bottling process. And last, but definitely not least, the Angostura tasting. You can taste all of the Angostura products from the yummy Mango and Passion Fruit Rum Punch down to the Puncheon. Once you finish tasting, you can purchase your favorites in the shop. My personal favorites were the Mango Rum Punch and the Amaro di Angostura. Do yourself a favor and purchase a couple of the latter! All in all, it was a good time! My father lives in Trinidad but has never been to the House of Angostura; he really enjoyed himself and said that he would bring friends/family to the plant when they visit Trinidad.

Hi Alicia,
That is one thing about Trinidadians they don't ever seem to be apologetic. Sorry you had to go through that. However, how did you book your tour I tried going to the website to fill out the form I am not sure what to put next to the wording "brand" it is not taking my request. I email them hopefully this will work. Please help!!
