My wife and I hired Stephen Broadbridge to show us the island over the course of four days. Stephen showed us amazing wildlife, exotic quiet places, stunning scenery, plus roadside stops and private homes for local cuisine. Thanks to him we truly learned to appreciate the sights, the food, and the warm people of Trinidad. Personable and charming, I recommend Stephen and CDT to anyone wanting an intimate glimpse of Trinidad and Trinidadian culture.

A perusal of the reviews of Caribbean Discovery Tours will let you know that Stephen Broadbridge offers an exceptional experience. On our four days of touring with him, he didn't disappoint. We saw the Nariva Swamp, Caroni Swamp along with the Temple in the Sea and the Sri Dattatreya Temple, Rio Seco and Salybia Falls and the Northern Range including Maracas and Las Cuevas Bays, Blanchisseuse and Brasso Seco. Those were just the main destinations. Along the way, we got to eat doubles, the best ice cream on the island, sip from a coconut, have cocoa beans straight out of the pod and home cooked lunches in the dining room or on the patio of local families. We even stopped at the homes of other locals to take in the view or see a pottery business. It's easy to see the mutual respect that he and the locals in both rural and urban spaces have for one another.
He deeply values the natural beauty of the island and the flora, fauna and ecology. He was constantly attuned to birds, monkeys, bats, flowers and amazing views that might interest us. His care for the beauty of the island showed when he picked up litter along trails.
Stephen is a great storyteller. He let's you know his unvarnished and often humorous perspectives.
Time is no object for Stephen. He just wants to make sure that you have a great experience. On our first day heading out to the Nariva Swamp, he "collected" us at 5:30 a.m. and got us back to our hotel at 9 pm. Part of that time was due to jammed traffic in Sangre Grande on the return drive.
Although I've travelled extensively, I'd never considered Trinidad before my husband suggested the trip. It definitely exceeded all of my expectations. If you're going to Trinidad and want a fabulous experience and a great value, book with Caribbean Discovery Tours!!

During our short stay in Trinidad we took two tours with Stephen Broadbridge. We went to the Avocat Falls as well as the Nariva Wetlands and the amazing Bush Bush. These tours were the highlight of our stay! Stephen is passionate about his country and its plentiful, beautiful flora and fauna. He is very knowledgeable and a natural teacher. Steven is very good company, patient, friendly, generous, funny, competent and desirous to give his clients the best experience possible. Can’t wait to go back to Trinidad and take another tour with Stephen!

We would highly recommend Caribbean Discovery Tours! We booked the North East Coast Tour at Grande Riviere which included a hike to Rio Seco Falls and the opportunity to see the turtles after sunset. Stephen Broadbridge was an amazing tour guide with tonnes of local knowledge and expertise which made the tour seamless. He was extremely helpful with all aspects of our tour including making adjustments for my elderly mother so that two of the party could go on the hike whilst my mother stayed behind. We stayed at the Mt Plaisir hotel which was a perfect choice, right on the beach front with beautiful boutique like rooms. We also had the added bonus of benefitting from Stephen's amazing photography skills to capture the memories. When we return we will definitely book with Caribbean Discovery Tours again and explore another part of the island.

I had the pleasure of using Caribbean Discovery Tours (CDT) for three experiences / adventures while inTrinidad during my July 2022 vacation.
These experiences include - Aripo Savannas, Caroni Swamp, Nariva / Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary and Plum Mitan.
My expectations were exceeded on this trip. CDT is very knowledgeable with all flora and fauna in Trinidad. You can tell they have been doing this for quite sometime. What really struck me were the deep relationships they have with the locals / farmers.
Lastly, CDT was extremely helpful with helping me connect the dots with other activities or other individuals that provided those services
Easily a 6 star rating for me. I would highly recommed CDT and use them again without hestitation

We did the Rio Seco and Grand Riviere turtle watching tour with this company. The tour guide Stephen Broadbridge was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us excellent advice and choices for accommodation and was very flexible with changes that needed to be made. We booked our tour while living remotely, but regardless of that fact we found it easy. We would defiantly do another tour with this company in the future and highly recommend to others considering a safe, exciting tour in Trinidad and Tobago!

What an awesome day!!! Stephen knows his Trinidad and is very knowledgeable and accommodating. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants not only a great hiking experience but also is interested in knowing more about the country!!!!

We had a brilliant time exploring the north coast of Trinidad with Stephen. Not only did we go on a great day tour with him, hiking to Avocat waterfall and Brasso Seco (a village that produces its own chocolate and honey), but we found an amazing place to stay through his recommendation - Mahogany Ridge, which had incredibly beautiful views of the coast and mountains around us. It was great fun driving around with Stephen in his land rover, discussing the history and contemporary life of Trinidad alongside phenomenal bird and plant spotting. He took good care of us during the hike and arranged the most incredible home meal at Brasso Seco, of food all grown in the village, which was one of the best meals we have ever eaten, anywhere. The chocolate mousse was insane! We loved every morsel.
We would highly recommend going with Stephen as he is so knowledgeable about the nature and wildlife and history of Trinidad, and can arrange the most memorable experiences that you could not access solo. He really cares about showing you the very best of Trinidad, and there is so much to see! We would love to come back and would make sure to visit Stephen again.

Stephen Broadbridge did an excellent job showing my students and myself around Bush Bush Sanctuary. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating, which we all appreciated. I would definitely recommend him as he's passionate about local ecosystems and communicates his knowledge easily.

Stephen Broadbridge and Carribean Discovery Tours was recommended in the Lonely Planet Guide to the Carribean. We called Stephen from home on WhatsApp for advice, and had a delightful, helpful conversation. He helped us find terrific accommodations in beautiful places at the end of the roads and car rentals. He knows everyone and everything about Trinidad and Tobago. We spent a day with him walking in and around Nariva Swamp, learning about Trinidad and its people, the amazing birds, and the plants. We enjoyed his company and his generous help.
