I recently visited Black Isle Wildlife & Country Park just at the weekend there. I can 100% hand on heart confirm that all animals are treated very well and looked after to a high standard. The animals will come straight up to you for a clap and will happy stay there for you to do this. Shamrock the goat is my new best friend, although I do think he thinks is a donkey. He loves to hang around with them, hopefully though he doesn't start making the same sounds ;)! I appreciate the park could do with some TLC but but the animals are not miss treated. There is small park with swings for children to play and a maze garden. The volunteer's at the park are friendly and very welcoming. The park is a brilliant place to take you kids to up close animal experience and learn all about them. I feel the park is getting bad reviews but rather than being negative why not volunteer for a day and see exactly how they are treated and how the park is run. I will definitely be returning.

Rated 1 only because there's no zero.
This place is appalling, animals are suffering. It needs to be closed down.

Bad trip all round.

Basic food served by a lady who had little idea what she was doing although she was very friendly.
Food was greasy and the only healthy option on the menu (baked potato) wasn't available.
Then paid £15 for the four of us to see a handful of goats, rabbits and some chickens.

Play park was old and some of it was dangerous (see picture of tower that was rotten).

I had heard this place had closed last year and re-opened and since we had not visited before I was stupidly assuming things would have improved after what was written in the papers. I thought the place very run down for a wildlife park, no one seemed to be around feeding or attending to different pens. Having been to a few wildlife parks and knowing this was smaller I wasn't expecting much but more attention to the animals. Some fur on the animals looked scraggy and matted. We quickly went around then and took my son further into the Black Isle to see dolphins in Avoch and my partner picked up some lovely Black Isle bath bombs to so had this place not been so bad we wouldn't have enjoyed the rest of the day.

I am surprised animal protection people allowed this to be re-opened very sad!

I went there with my 1 year old son, my mum, cousin and auntie. It used to be very nice there - happy animals, lots to see. Nothing to compare to what is now..

When we arrived the place looked closed. We went in. Suddenly older man arrived and asked us if we seen anyone and purchased tickets. After my reply he said that he is the person I have to buy tickets from and he requested £6 per person. I tried to negotiate, but it didnt work ;-) I paid £24. He asked if we've been there before, I have - couple of years ago. I asked if anything changed, he denied. Then he said that if we need him, he will be around.
At the beginning all was good - house animals were ok, just seemed bit sad...
And then - nothing after!! No ducks, no swans, no monkeys, no dear, no parrots, snakes, nothing! Half of the animals were gone!!
We were so disappointed! I didnt know that the zoo lost the licence and its just allowed to keep house animals!

I found this older man, asked him to explained it, no answer to that. Then I asked to give me half of my money back, as I thought only that would been fair and then the lies began.. Firstly - money is locked in office and he doesnt have key, I asked who does then. Next lie - he said that his wife came to take this money and went to bank to Inverness to pay it in. I asked - so every time he phones her when someones in and she comes to take that money and travel to bank with £20?? He said that yes!! I had enough by then ammd asked for receipt - proof that I paid for those tickets. And I asked to speak to manager. And then he told me its him!!!

I said to him what I think - about his lies and all this situation. He said that he's sorry to hear that and thats it.
I went there with family who came for a visit, but unfortunately it wasnt good experiance, neither day out.. :-(

Advice - if you go there, dont pay. Sometimes this "manager" (owner?) is not there, so you can just go in and feed those animals which are left there. I've heard that from few people since then.

That this wildlife park has a license at all is incomprehensible !!! The few animals that can be seen there make a neglected impression. The stables and enclosures are unkempt and dirty. The entrance fee of 5 pounds totally overpriced.
Apart from lamas and alpacas there are mainly farm animals to be seen - donkeys - goats and pigs. But looking at the terrible is a pain in the soul! Please do not support this park !!! The animals should be taken away from the park and placed elsewhere! There is no wildlife, only sadness!!!

I visited with my daughter and have never experienced anything like it. Almost derelict with the most poor living conditions for the animals.

Absolutely filthy with no staff to accommodate visitors or animals.

Animal faeces in each enclosure, not to mention the oppressive smell of both faeces and urine everywhere around the park.

I was also shocked to see in most enclosures there was no water for the animal, the animals seemed distressed and quite obviously without having to delve deep at all- neglected.

I am definitely not surprised this place had been shut down previously due to horrifying mistreatment of animals, and poor living conditions... it needs to be shut down again....asap.

Having visited this park in its heyday, tempted to try again. Arrived on Sunday and was closed. Tried again a few days later and wished I hadn't bothered. Animals looked sad and many enclosures overgrown. Was tempted to eat in the cafe but saw a mass of flies and decided to head home. Having their zoo license taken away hasn't resulted in any positive action. Try the Robertson farm instead. This is becoming a firm favorite of ours.

As locals who had been a few times over the years, and read bad press of forced closure and bad conditions, of which were noticeable as customers, we were intrigued to see advertising of the newly rebranded Noah's ark farm. We thought, after all the problems, for them to advertise again and the fact people would be scrutinising it more due to past problems, surely they must have got their act together? We were wrong. The park and its surrounding are not well looked after at all. There are so many empty, overgrown enclosures, it just seems a bit sad. The animals looked fine, in good condition, the kids loved them, but there were just so few in such a huge, not well maintained areas. A real waste for £15 for a family. A lot of tlc is required to improve.
