From what I understand, the city of Victoria has done an exemplary job of cleaning up this whole area, and the park is a great place to just spend some time near the city relaxing in a peaceful, natural setting.

Take a drive, bus or bike along Gorge Rd. East (from Hillside Ave) until you get to Tillicum Rd. Once there you can go over the bridge to Gorge Rd. Park (on the west side of the water) or take a lovely walk along this tidal waterway all the way to Admirals Rd. There are plenty of benches and a few clustered rest areas. A beach with grounds for a picnic awaits at your turn back point. It's hard to believe this peacefully inhabited section of Saanich runs parallel to the Trans Canada Highway.

What a beautiful oasis to wander along and enjoy. This entire area along the Gorge waterway has been landscaped so skillfully and with wonderful results, in some spots you can forget that there are roads very near, and right in the middle of a city neighbourhood. The waterway is fabulous. Lots of birds and, I was told but didn’t witness, otters and seals are often seen and there are fish in the eelgrass. I saw many kayakers and enjoyed watching one of them play in the brief “rapids under a bridge.

Loved this park and all the really nice flowers and surrounding areas for a family activity or the picnic tables for a lunch or just hang out at the grassy area and walk along the gorge water way,

When we visit Victoria we stay at a hotel on East Gorge Road near the Waterway Park. Rain or shine we walk there every day. The asphalt under-foot is smooth and we'll maintained. There are two restrooms along the way and the grounds are impeccably kept with flowers in bloom year-round. There are geese and other species of waterfowl feeding and they seem quite impervious to walkers- by. This is a great glace for solitude and exercise and it is highly recommended.

This is a great park for a casual stroll or a family picnic, vehicle parking is free. Washrooms are very clean & area is safe. Recommend to everyone that this is a place to come and see!

Started walking here with my dog recently and find it is such a beautiful walk. There is the Gorge waterway and the falls, which I had forgotten about from past experiences. You will not find bikes along these paths, at least I have not seen any lately, and lots of families and other dog walkers. Several different paths you can take and there is even a local community garden which at the moment (July 2017) is packed full of veggies and flowers. I have seen families in the evening taking picnic dinners as there are lots of picnic tables. Take a break from a hectic life and find serenity along the Gorge Waterway Park. Highly recommend it. If you do want food or a drink there are a couple of places across from the park on Gorge Road East.

On Canada Day the road is closed to traffic and there are a variety of free events - live music, road hockey, food vendors, craft market, car show..... Great event put on by the local community association.

We happened on this small park while touring Victoria and were impressed with its beauty. It’s a narrow park between the road and the Gorge waterway with a lovely walkway along the water of just under 2 kms. Being flat, it makes for a very easy walk. The tulips were in full bloom and the bursts of colour added some brilliance to the dullness of the day. There are interpretive signs, views across the gorge, parking and washrooms. Would be a good place for bird watching too.
