My daughter and I got into a Beck taxi that was in queue outside the Princess of Wales theatre around 10:30pm after a show. Requested a ride back to the Distillery district. When I went to pay with my debit card, the driver took the card from me, swiped and then inserted it into his machine and then handed me the machine to complete the transaction. I entered my pin and when the transaction was confirmed, removed my card and exited the cab. I thought everything was fine.I went grocery shopping the next morning and when I went to pay with my debit card it kept telling me my pin was wrong and I was unable to pay. I went to my bank where I discovered that the debit card I had was not mine at all. The cab driver had switched cards on me and had then withdrawn $950 from my account because he had my PIN number from his "machine". The bank told me that Beck Taxi is notorious for fraud schemes and this is a common problem. DO NOT Ever use Beck Taxi, they are crooks.

I ordered a beck taxi from ScotiabankArena to town inn suites. About 12/13 min drive.
Waited for the taxi to arrive and when it did the man said my name and I went over.
He said to me when I got in the car “no meter now. You pay me 55, no less” I managed to get him down to 40.
He said “I want money before we start trip, I don’t move otherwise” so i reluctantly gave him the 40 dollars.
We set off on the journey and the whole way he kept looking in the mirror at me saying “you see this 💩 , 40 dollars and I have to drive in this 💩 , you English people don’t know what it’s like”
I ignored the constant abusive words and comments.
We arrived at my hotel about 18/19 mins later, so really only a 6 min delay at worst. As I was about to get out he locks the door and said “ you give me 10 or 15 dollar tip”
I explained to him I am a solo traveler and I don’t have much money remaining. He then proceeded to just sit there staring aimlessly out the drivers window .
10 mins past and I said to him I need to go as I am leaving in the morning and have to pack. He turned round and said “next time you tip or you don’t get out” then he unlocked my door and I went into the hotel lobby
I spoke to the concierge and he said I was ripped off. The max they should’ve charged, including a tip, should’ve been 30 dollars
A really bad experience that put a real dampener on my time here in Toronto
I tried to contact beck themselves but no one answered.
For future reference his number on the back of the seat was 00986
A old ish man I’d say late 40’s early 50’s , Asian and very rude.

Rude driver. I said hello getting in the vehicle, he was silent. I got the street name wrong initially, my fault, but he got really angry with me when I corrected it. I did not feel safe.

I called Beck to pick me up and was told there was a Taxi availible just around the corner, after 10 mins went by I got an automated call that my Taxi was delayed
After another 10mins I called to ask what was up and was told sometimes it can take an average of 20mins for a cab to arrive so should be there soon
I waited for another FORTY minutes so a total on 1hr. I called and was told 20-60 minutes is normal.
At this point despite wearing gloves, a winter, a hoody and a coat I was getting quite cold so after conidering for a few minutes I canceled my and ordered an Uber
The Uber showed up in TWO minutes and cost half as much as the taxi was estimated to be...I opted to tip that guy the difference since he was extremely friendly and helpful (i had some boxes with me)
Now I remember why I stopped using Taxi's, THIS is why Uber is beating you, not because they cheated or its unfair its because you SUCK!!
Note that every time I called Beck I was told and treated like I was being unreasonable even after an HOUR!!!

A cab service with timely and metered service. They do have a few wheelchair accessible cars that offer a rear loading ramp. It is the same mtered service at the same rates as non wheelchair customers.
The drivers were friendly, professional and courteous. Basically, I called numerous times, a half dozen or more, and ordered an accessible cab, and 15 to 20 minutes later, it arrived.
The rates were very reasonable. I paid in Canadian dollars, but they do accept USD, but they do not convert, so it's better to pay in Canadian dollars.

My name is Aldo Colangelo. I'm a 96- old man, a CNIB member and I'm a little bit deaf as well. Yesterday, at noon, and at about 6.00 p.m., I called your central station. The first driver, from Ghana, took me to Stephen st,, Etobicoke and gladly put my wheelchair in the back of his car, I was VERY happy with his joviality and professional help,.
The second driver, at 6.00 p.m. was as good and efficient as the first and took me home, at Argyle selecting the Queensway route to avoid traffic jams. I was extremely pleased, once again.
'Our family has been very fortunate to be served the way your central station staff & drivers have been with us. Please, tell them that as a very, very old man, I am grateful to all of them and your driver team. God bless you amd your families.

I deleted an earlier 1-star review because of the subsequent customer service from Beck Taxi.
On July 2/23, we pre-ordered a cab to take us to a wedding (we were dressed in fine clothes). Driver showed up with his 2 kids in the car, expecting us to get in, so we told him to leave and we found another ride. My credit card was subsequently charged a $10 tip. I immediately complained to Beck via their website. Two days later, Beck emailed me, shared my opinion of the driver’s atrocious service, reversed the tip and offered to send me coupons for a free ride.
THAT’S how a company changes the perception of poor customer service to fantastic customer service. Well done Beck! You’re still my preferred company of transportation!

Filthy car and trunk. The seats were peeling terribly and the trunk was filled with rags where our bags were put. Could not sit back against the seats or breath in the car.

Uber a pris le marche du taxi. Beck, Co-op etc, jamais libres. Et les chauffeurs qui travalllent le dimanche pour apprendre la ville!! "Sunday Taxis Drivers". Courage

These guys are horrible drivers no need to take someone life into there own hands driving 140..answering the phone while driving . Breaking hard which makes you feel like he's going to hit someone..drive from Toronto to Kitchener. 2hours 34 min unreal..slow the hell down.
