Montreal never disappoints! Rue Saint Denis is loaded with great restaurants, boutiques, a feast for the senses!

It's a major crosstown street that takes you through several neighborhoods, but especially the Plateau. We came here for dinner, lots of restaurants here. Nice architecture.

We took the Metro north to Laurier (Orange Line) , got off, wandered around, then walked back downtown while checking out all the small shops, the Murals on the sides of buildings, and coffee bistros. We stopped in at Librairie Renaud-Bray at 4380 Rue St-Denis and spoke with Oliver who helped us find interesting books, kitchen items (yes) and an annual planner.
There are many places to see along the Rue. Worth the walk.

A very long North-South street that runs through the Plateau. You will find lots of restaurants and cafes here and stops of the Metro system. Because of the Metro, it's a practical place to search for food.

I had read a few negative reviews but I was blown away by the hotel. The staff are very friendly. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in a hotel. Everything was spic and span. Good job.

If you can’t find something to eat along here then you’re not looking hard enough. No patios open with the fall rain but still wasn’t inside.

St. Denis is and has long been a popular shopping district for boutique shopping. This street used to be lined with independent and local shops and the fashion conscious.
Sadly, the street has changed over the year, still offering a shopping experience and a wide rage or terraces to enjoy a great meal and/or drink.
St Denis below rue Sherbrooke is typically closed off in summer months to enjoy "patio season". Very social.

Hi, My husband and I only have 1 day in Montreal in mid February. We are looking for the best street with bars. We are in our mid 30's & 40's so we'd like to avoid the 18 year olds but we still love having a good time! We'd like to spend the day bar hopping. I'm reading and have narrowed it down to St Paul st, St Laurent blvd, St Denis st and crescent street. Any recommendations as I know nothing about Montreal. Also, this day will be a Sunday, bars are open on Sundays right?
Thank you!

I am trying to decide between the St Denis hotel or the Faubourg hotel montreal?

Both are just outside the Down town core. The St. Denis is closest to the Gay Village. As for reputation I cannot add any more that Tripadvisor. The Faubourg is further south and west of the St. Denis. Yet, within a short walking distance. The St. Denis is closest to fine eateries in the Village and quicker access to out Metro system. I trust this is helpful.
