I had a flight to catch (6 hours of waiting) and decided to release some happy hormones rather than getting depressed waiting for hours at the airport.
Stored my luggage at the airportel (pls check the posting) at the airport and took grab to the Happy Healthy Lane. Once arrive, head to the SNAP office. Best to register upfront online prior to arriving so that you don't waste too much time there. But otherwise the staffs will assist you to register the SNAP account. You will get a SNAP bracelet. You need to preload the bracelet with cash at the vending machines available at this office block. Be aware that these reload machines are only available here and once you enter the track, you will not see any.
Once you've loaded the SNAP, head to the bicycle rental building. Get your pre-booked bike and pay with the SNAP bracelet. There is a OPEN shelf where you can store your items, free of charge. Changed my cycling gear and left my clothes here.
I read somewhere that you can bring your own cycling shoes & (even cleats) and the staffs can install them on the bikes for you. I forgot to ask them though.
Head to the starting point and you'll need to scan your SNAP at the gates - not sure if the 4 hours of rental time starts here or immediately once you receive the bike though.
1 round is approximately 23km. Toilet/rest area is available at approx km 5, 10 & 15. Vending machines (drinks) are available at all these 3 places. But BEHOLD.... SNAP CANNOT be used here. WTF.... you need to pay via Alipay or QR codes which your bank may or may not be able to access. Really wished i knew about this earlier coz i topped-up the SNAP with extra cash thinking i can use it here.
Ended up paying cash to another visitor and used this Alipay instead. Thank goodness.. Be aware that they do not allow the PET bottles to be brought onto the track - you either finish them or transfer into your drink bottle.
I managed to do 2 rounds and call it quits as it got too hot. Head back to the office and returned the bike. Asked around and was directed to a public bath next building. Paid using SNAP (and it was not cheap, but justified).
Ended up with a lot of balance in the SNAP account. Should have loaded it with just enough amount to use.
There are a lot of convenience stores and food court in case you want to eat. Took the grab taxi and headed back to the airport.
Overall, so happy i did this. Not sure when i can repeat this though and it seems the money is wasted in the SNAP. If given a chance, i will repeat and bring my own water bottle, cycling computer, cycling shoes etc. (BTW they provide the helmet).
Hope it helps.

Firstly, it's been renamed to "happy and healthy bike lane" if you're a cycling (i'm just a commuter) then this is the place for you. If you like planes then it's heaven. I was cycling and a boeing 777 flew directly overhead to land - really close.
The H&HBL is very well run. Need to check opening hours i think it opens at 6am and last ride is 8pm. We went at 5pm. Take your passport. You register and they give you a little bracelet thing to get you into the track (23kms around, 1 way, toilets/vending machines every 5 kms) there is a small foodcourt with excellent food choices including KFC :) coffee, thai food, pasta (not great) health drinks/shakes and a small convenience store. I had some thai noodles afterwards very tasty. To get to H&HBL either get a grab/taxi or you can train it to BKK airport and then i believe there is a shuttle bus that can take you to the H&HBL entry. Enjoyable experience would go again.

Pro : Perfect facilities, everything you need except the shade :-) super experience for me
Con : I’m staying 3 weeks in Bangkok, so instead of renting a bike, I came with mine and I’m staying in Bangkok city (near the ARL train) unfortunately you cannot bring the bike in the ARL… there is another train but you can bring the bike only in specific hours… and it’s 5 bath for you and 100 bath for the bike (but that was not the problem, the problem is “when” you can bring the bike on the train and you still have to ride to the Sky Lane because it’s still 5km away from Lat Krabat train station…
If I’ll go by bike I need more than an hour (30km away) and it’s really dangerous… I will be really luck if I’ll survive…
Really nice facilities but it’s almost impossible to get there… if you don’t have a car

It has fantastic facilities the bike rental shop is great for choice. However the snap system wasn't explained and I couldn't even get a drink of water after 23.5 kilometres with over 2000 baht on me.
7/11 and kfc turned me away However a very kind thai gentleman from a kiosk helped me out.
8/10 for facilities, especially for the locals as experience is free if you bring your own bike.
1/10 for snap.

Having been to the Happy Healthy Bike Lane/Sky Lane today. I thought I would feed back to try and help future users.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience at the track, not too taxing and the bikes we hired were modern and suited us fine. The track is 25km approx and there is no turning back once started. There are helpline numbers on the bikes if you need assistance whilst going round. We are non cyclists but relatively fit and didn't find it strenuous or too hot, it was between 1pm and 3pm Dec 24th, sunny with nice breeze all day.
We travelled there by grab( from Khlong Tonsai area) 562 plus 75thb tolls, 50 minutes. We came back by grab to Lat Krabang Airport Rail Link 195thb plus 80thb ARL tickets plus BTS tickets 80thb 1.5 hours. We avoided coming back by grab due to fear of Xmas eve traffic gridlock.
The main hub has the registration area, bike hire, toilets, food stalls coffee shops, seating areas, small bike track, children's bike track and loads of parking.
You need your actual passport to register at the HHBL, this gets you a Snap wrist band each to keep forever and it is free. (You only need to register once)You then need to load money on the wristband to hire bikes and/or pay for drinks at the center and the 3 (I think) rest stops ( with toilets and vending machines) on the way round. You load the wrist band with actual cash at one of the machines. The wrist band is also used to sign you in and out of bike track. If you have your own bike, it will all be free.
We hired hybrid bikes for 420thb each Inc helmet for 4 hours. Staff in the bike hire centre were great. They took us through thr hire process and made sure our bike seats were adjusted to suit us and the helmets fitted properly.
Once out on the track there was lots to see, passing under the incoming and outgoing aircraft. For someone with a passing interest in aviation it was really good. Also saw plenty of birds on the way, herons, egrets, storks, waders etc. Parts of the track were really peaceful. There were only a handful of local riders on the track during our circuit and all were friendly and willing to chat. As we were leaving, it was getting busier in the car park as the evening approached.
I would wholly recommend a trip to the Happy Health Bike Lane, Suvarnabhumi.

A fantastic facility for those of us living in the city and need somewhere safe to ride. Thanks enormously to AOT and SCB for providing this.
You will need to register on the first visit to get an RFID tag that tracks you in and out. The RFID tag also needs to be loaded with cash if you want to buy refreshments. It's a simple process.
There's a huge car park, plenty of refreshments and a number of bike shops. I understand that bikes are available for hire if you don't have your own, but always best to check first as things can change.
It's a fun trip (especially first time) and a great place for a workout, but be aware of a few downsides.
- The main track is 23.5km and one way, so you have to do 23.5km, 47km, 70.5km.... nothing in between.
- There's usually a headwind on one side of the track which can go on for 8km or more without respite. Luckily this is usually on the outbound leg which means you will be flying on the way back.
- Unlike Nong Bon, there is very little shade which can leave you very hot if you don't get out early in the morning or in the evening.
- It can get a bit boring once you have done it a few times
There are rest rooms on the way round and a pickup truck doing a regular circuits if you have a mechanical or need a ride back for any other reason.
I believe you can go in the evening as there is solar powered lighting, but I haven't tried it yet.
For tourists wanting to see a bit of Thailand, there are much better places to go in Bangkok and further afield. Just Google Thailand bike tours.
All in all a fantastic facility provided free to the public. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea and all those who backed it.

Now called the Happy and Healthy Bike Lane - free entry but need to register with passport or ID card.
Given a SNAP wrist band which means you can enter in future without registering. Can preload this with money to rent bikes.
You can also pay for bike rentals starting from 400 Baht including a helmet with a bank transfer.
Initially, a time-consuming but efficient service and once registered this would be simple.
It was very busy at 6 pm on Saturday. It is a great bike track for fitness 23.5 Km around the outside of the airport. The bikes were in excellent condition and the bike shop service very good

Pro: very nice surface, lots of restrooms at regular intervals, open early and late, food - coffee - bike shops and rental on site, big parking area for driving there. Con: A little scary to ride to the entrance, air quality marginal under the aircraft landing and taking off.

This is just my opinion. I can't think of anything more boring, sad (maybe) than riding around an airport in a foreign country. Sure I like bike rides but I also like to look at nice scenery on my journey, not bland landscape and watching planes taking of and landing. When your on holiday you don't want to hanging around the airport any longer than necessary, you want to get as far away as possible asap. By the way there must lots of interesting bike routes in Bangkok, well away from the airport.

Hello Ryan. You can hire both hybrid bikes for 400 baht or proper racing bikes for 1000 baht. They were all adult sizes so not sure if they were 58 cm or not.

Where can I rent road bikes at sky lane? What brand are available for rental and are they in good condition?
Đã viết vào 24 tháng 8, 2019
I rented in February. The bikes were okay for a nice flat ride. The bike was in good condition. You need a passport and cash for the deposit and bike payment. You can ask them questions directly (I did) on FB messenger. It was one of the best airport stopovers I ever had!

Hello, I would like to know how I can get access to the Sky Lane around Suvarnabumi Airport, by bike from Silver Gold Garden Suvarnabumi Airport
Đã viết vào 5 tháng 8, 2019
Hi I will be transitting in suvarnabhumi airport with my bike, I am just wondering if I can assemble my bike in suvarnabhumi airport and ride to Bangkok skylane, and left my bike box in left luggage, would it be possible ?
Đã viết vào 20 tháng 5, 2019
Sounds feasible. I would try to make my way to one of the left luggage counters first and then assemble your bike there. Would avoid cycling around mid day though as it will be roasting! Good luck!

I would like to go try out Sky lane this coming weekend and saw that you can hire bikes and helmets there. What time does the bike hire store open as I would like to get there really early. And what is the name of the shop you can hire from?
Thanks in advance
