This is a beautiful temple at 2 hours drive from Bengaluru. 20 Rs entry ticket. 30 min waiting in queue. Depending on crowd it will take 1-2 hours for temple Darshan and premise tour.

car parking is big enough with 50 Rs fee.

facilities in temple are bad. 5 rs for using toilet outside the temple that is filthy and probably the worst i have ever seen. even small villages have better toilets. For every Darshan, jal Abhishek, Pujari and his helper will ask for money. if you say you don't have change then they will ask to give whatever you have. ignore these people and just continue. May be increase entry ticket to 50 rs but stop asking for money at every point.

eateries outside Temple are also poor quality and unhygienic. either pack your food or have it on the way in some restaurant.

temple premise is magnificent and clean with Shivlings all around but facilities need significant improvement.

About Kotilingeshwara:
It is place expected to have 1 crore shivalingas. It is very near to Kolar city.Place is a must visit as view of shivlingas is breath taking. We visited on Shivratri day so place was over crowded but in normal times it will have minimal crowd. When you reach then there are two ticket counters of Rs 50(Special Entry) and Rs 20(Normal Entry). Go with normal one as there was not much difference on the overcrowded shivratri day also. After entering the premise you will find several temples, you can avoid them(personal choice) due to two reasons-- First on shivratri big queue was there at every temple and it will eat your time. Second on normal days pujaris will try to make you to do sanklpa and other things to make fat donations. Its totally an individual's choice.Directly head to main shivlinga. There are two big shivlingas one old and one new.The view is spectacular.
Parking and Restaurants:
If you are coming from Bangarpet rout through StateHighway rout then parking is after temple and if from NH through KOLAR then before temple. Normal days parking is not a problem but on shivratri the place was overcrowded so people parked there vehicles on the road side.If visiting on the overcrowded occasion avoid parking on the road side as somebody else will park just behind you and totally block your vehicle's access to the road and you have to wait endless for the vehicle to move.Same happened to us but we were lucky that with very much difficultly and risk of wheels falling in the drainage could take out our car.Luckily some good good locals came and helped us but luck may not come always. There are small shops nearby so it is better to carry your food and water supply for worry free experience.Did not explore washroom facility at temple premises.
The Route and On the way facilities:
There are two routes google will show from Electronic City:
First is through Hoskur-Chikkatirupati-Bangarpet-Kotilingashwara about 86Km time estimate of 2Hrs 40Mins.
Pro : Route is short,no tolls, green stretch,if visiting on weekdays the can avoid ORR,KR Puram, whitefield traffic.
Cons: Road is really bad in stretches,No good restaurants for refreshments,For washrooms one has to depend only on dirty Petrol pump washrooms (In emergency pay and use toilet in Bangarpet(Opposite government bus stand just after turning),It is SH and two lane so night driving could be a problem.
Second Electronic City-KR Puram-Hoskote-Kolar-Kotilingeshwara about 106Km time estimate of 2Hrs 50Mins.
Pros: Smooth 6 lane road till Kolar then some 20 km stretch of good two lane road to Kotilingeshwara,Plenty of Good restaurents and Dhabas on the way
Cons:Little bit longer,Toll at Hoskote (Rs20), Could get traffic from Ecity to Hoskote on Weekdays a Saturdays.

Couple of hours comfortable drive from Banagalore and you get the peaceful temple premises. Other reviews might already be talking about 1 crore Shivlingams and all so let me talk about other things. Parking is just nex to the temple entry and outside you see lot of snacks, toys and prasadam shops. Paid toilets are also just close to the parking. Don't expect some star hotel kind of food or toilets here but things are quite clean and nice. There is an entry fees for the temple (children are free). Stand in a small queue for a minute or so and you enter the temple. There are various temples inside the premise (I remember at-least 10) and they have created the pathway in such form that you have to enter each temple and then reach the biggest Shivlinga and Nandi. Each temple you enter obviously you will offer something so have your pocket full of change. Once you reach the final point where huge Shivling and Nandi are there, view is quite pleasant. You can see beauty of thousands of Shivlingas running all around you. Towards the end there is a Shani-dev and Hanuman temple as well and once you complete them all you can exit directly into the market. We spent around 2 hours inside the premise. But best part of the trip was waiting outside in the parking. There was a guy sitting in the shade and making keychain. What an artist he was. Within a minute he was drawing whatever you want on a piece of wood and making a key-chain. I was so stunned by his drawing skills that I bought couple of personalized key-chains from him. Bottomline is place is quite peaceful though there are people around and its not completly desserted but no loudspeakers, no noise, no non-sense. All you expect from a temple is peace and that's what I got here.

Just think of having crores of Shivas in one place...The feel is different! I was just mesmerized by being there. Donno how to explain that feeling, it was so different and beautiful at the same time. I took a scooty ride from Bangalore to Kotilingeshwara and in an hour and half we reached. Looks difficult as the stretch is for 100Kms but the roads are too good. Kolar highway is a beautiful ride and we reached peacefully.
If U are going for the first time, don't have to be bothered. Googlemaps will help you out..!!

It's very nice temple with lakhs and lakhs of shivlingas. It's at least one time visit definitely. Only thing I didn't like that to come out of the temple you have to mandatory cross all three temples build inside the campus. You cannot skip any temple as they have closed the side gates. More than that in one of the temple as soon as u enter it they close the exit gate till pujari completes the rituals and explainations of temple and that's the reason I am giving it a 3 star.

Around 100 km drive from Bangalore. Roads are good except the ones near to this temple around 20-25 km. The temple is famous for having 1 crore Shivalingas. There are small shrines dedicated to many deities. One shrine among them is the first Shivalinga of this place named "Manjunathaswamy temple". The temple also has 9 Devi forms. One can perform "Shivalinga Pratishthapana" (install a Shivalinga) for which the amount starts from Rs. 8000. One can also have free prasadam (bhojanam) in the temple premises from 12:30pm - 2pm.
Overall, it is a must one day temple trip from Bangalore.
