I simply called in to visit the RNLI shop but was offered a 1-1 tour of the. Station, an offer I couldn’t refuse. The volunteer Bev was so informative and personable and I learned so much about the history, equipment and operation of this vital lifeboat station.

We had an excellent guided tour around the lifeboat station. Very interesting for kids and adults alike. Chance to donate to a great cause which needs our support

This place is great.
Surprised yo learn its open 10-2 for tours of the station and up close views of the lifeboat, the slipway and history of the RNLI both nationally and locally.
Great for kids too.

We visited the lifeboat station at a quiet time and were fortunate enough to receive a tour of the kit room and the lifeboat. Friendly and knowledgeable staff showed how the whole operation works. It was fascinating and inspiring.

A thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and informative eye opener of a visit. Our guides, Steve & Jan were very friendly and gave us a comprehensive tour of the station, explaining, in a very professional manner, the amazing facts and figures of the running of the station. The bravery and courage of the volunteer crews of the boats are to be greatly admired. So glad, and very impressed with our visit.

Went for a tour of the Shoreham Lifeboat Station on 19-8-22 and was met by Steve and Jan who gave us a very informative and interesting tour of the station and saw the magnificent two lifeboats. The Lifeboatmen and women are very highly trained and ready to go out in all weathers at any time facing great dangers to save lives at sea.. it was amazing how many times they are called out.
I was really impressed with it all and felt so grateful that they are there.

Thanks ever so much to Andy for letting us join the families who you were showing around the Lifeboat Station on Sun 12 June. We were literally just walking past the station when we saw the door open and cheekily asked if we could join you. It was absolutely fantastic and you were so brilliant with the very cute kids asking lots of questions!
Andy gave a really great insight into what goes on behind the scenes and answered many questions. It was fantastic to see that lifeboat up close too.
I only wish I was in the area to be present at the upcoming Open Day when the lifeboat will be launched twice.
Now off to make a donation to the fundraising page, as promised.

Steve gave us a personal tour of the lifeboat station which was absolutely fascinating - despite us just dropping in on the off chance. You would not have believed he had only been doing it for 6 weeks; he was so knowledgeable. There is so much to read and find out we could easily have spent a further hour looking around. It was really interesting getting to look at the changing room and see what the guys have to kit up in - in 90 seconds...... we have been to quite a few lifeboat stations and that was a first. And there were plenty of firsts on the knowledge front. Well worth the long drag along the rather uninspiring river side from Shoreham town centre to get there. I must also make note of Steve's lovely wife manning the gift shop. Who was wonderful company whilst we waited for Steve. Do just check the opening hours as we had been disappointed on a previous visit.

If you are in the area, I highly recommend a visit to the Shoreham Lifeboat station. The RNLI is a charitable organisation run by volunteers, who go above and beyond.
The station is open from 10am to 2pm during the week, and you are welcome to explore the station at your leisure. There is a public viewing platform where you can view the impressive all-weather Tamar class boat, costing a cool £2.7 million, although the experience is enhanced when you quiz the station volunteers. We met the knowledgeable Jan and Steve, who happily guided us around the station, and made the interaction more fun for the little ones.

There is free parking right outside the lifeboat station. Turn off the a259 when u c the station and you drive into the (rough) - but free, park.
