Fantastic afternoon at the Rostomashvili winery! Our host couldn't have been more hospitable and the wine was delicious. Fascinating to learn about all the different wines and their production techniques. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly authentic Georgia wine experience!

An absolutely lovely personal experience. Me & my friend showed up without booking as we ready that Rostomaant Marani welcomes ‘walk-ins’ and were blown away by Irakli & his wife’s hospitality: they gave us such an amazing welcome. We did a wine tasting with goat cheese, bread, nuts and chilli jam (I couldn’t resist and even bought one ‘to go’). All wines were amazing, but the ‘Saperavi qvevri fortified wine’ (red) is truly Irakli’s masterpiece, so (naturally), I walked away with a bottle that Irakli corked personally in front of us :-) A highly recommended experience!

Wonderful experience!
It was pretty spontaneous - I asked in the evening via WhatsApp if we could make the Wine with cheese and jam tasting the same evening and got the answer immediately that they can host us right now if we wish. So we went there like half an hour later and everything was prepared for us. The tasting was private with the host,at it was beforethe high season. Everything tasted amazing - it was the best wine, cheese and jam we had in Georgia. the host is very chatty and speaks English. He can answer every single question about the wine production. It's a family cellar, so expect the backyard and basement where the wine is made - so simple, so wonderful. I definitely recommend.

We were a walk-in and Ika took us unprepared. We loved the authenticity, warmth and hospitality. Everything was made by him, his wife and family. A proud tradition still going today. We came here with 3 little kids and had an amazing time! The parents tasted some wine and chacha, the children got bread and lots of home made jam. The wine, home made cheese with jam combo was amazing! Then we got some amazing bbq with fries.. Such a great time! The host was welcoming and kind. We ended up buying some wine and jams.. Really recommend this place if you are in Telavi 🤗

Irakli's cellar was recommended to us by our driver because he mentioned we had to listen to his story. Irakli is bringing back winemaking to his family after it was lost during the USSR time. Should you happen to come and visit his cellar, I highly recommend you ask him about his great great grandfather who is pictured on his wine labels. But even without a recommendation, if you happen to be in Telavi, it's not hard to find his cellar. The city has placed signs marked with his cellar name (Rostomaant Marani), a notable one by the fortress, and all you have to do is simply follow them!
We called ahead of time on the day of our visit so that he could prepare a wine tasting for us. He has put together a carefully curated pairing that includes family made cheeses, jams and even sausage! He starts off with white and goes to red and then goes to dessert wine (Port!) and onto cha cha! It was an awesome experience that gave us an insight into his process and inspiration for making grape into wine and spirits. He has studied wine extensively and was also trained by a head monk in the Alaverdi Monastery (as most wine makers in Telavi) and has put a lot of consideration into his wine making.
His passion for quality was displayed when he served us a glass of Rkatsiteli and realized it oxidized too long in the bottle than he expected it to so he opened a different bottle in order for us to understood the taste he was going for! His style is unique in that he is not afraid to go outside of wine-making. He has successfully created a Port-style wine and has also made brandy. His honey lemon chacha went down smooth and was dangerously easy to drink. I recommend you try it all!
During our time a couple who drove three hours to his cellar arrived and completed the tasting with us, then drove back three more hours! I am grateful that as Rostomaant Marani is becoming more and more popular, my husband and I were able to do a tasting with a small group. It felt so homey, laid-back and casual, like talking with old friends! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Irakli is a wine artist. He creates wonderful unique wines and (grape) chachas in small quantities. He offers his wines and chachas in degustations with home made cheese and home made jams and Georgian bread. Absolutely fantastic taste experience! Overwhelming explosions on your tongue guaranteed.
Family owned business. Very nice atmosphere. Kind and honest. Not touristic.
If you want to get to know real Georgian hospitality a MUST for everybody.
We recommend to plan an degustation appointment for your trip.

This was the best wine tasting we have done. It is a small, family owned business and you really get a sense of the love and passion for wine making from the owner. He is such a wonderful host. We had a platter of meats, bread and cheese to have with our tasting which was a lovely addition. The wines were delicious – we couldn’t stop drinking them! Our only regret was not buying more to take home with us. We will be back to Rostomaant Marani on our next visit to Georgia.

Fantastic small family winery in Telavi w/ all of the amenities you would hope for a personal wine tasting/seating. We went to a handful of the larger/factory wineries, but Rostomaant Marani was by far the most family-home oriented.
The wine tasting was in their family cellar and the host spoke great English, teaching us about his family business and sharing a flight of delicious wines with us. We ended up buying a very reasonably priced bottle that we're saving for a rainy day. =)
If you have a tasting booked at a bunch of the large/corporate wineries, you should definitely make a trip to see a true family-style winery.
