I have been a regular at the Pieter Toerien for many years now and must have seen well over a hundred shows. I’ve found myself enjoying the more intimate upstairs theatre more where they usually offer intellectual fair.

Back in Lights at the Pieter Toerien Theatre - 01 January 2022 Fabulous show!!.. a brilliant gem of theatre magic - Back in Lights is the perfect production to open a new year in the theatre in 2022! Jonathan Roxmouth is absolutely superb - he totally 'owns' the stage with his sparkling stage presence, stunning voice, and quick wit! - marvellous choice of songs old and new, dazzling lighting, and a trio of fantastic musicians - the sublime Roelof Colyn on piano, the magical cellist Lindzi Wiggins, and the wickedly talented guitarist Kieran Woolmington...don't miss this show!! It's pure magic! All COVID-19 protocols are in place - this is the safest place to be in 2022!!

I recently attended the Pieter Dirk Uys #hetwo. Brilliant is not a strong enough word. Superb merely fades in oblivion. The show is riveting,intoxicating and hilarious. The flashbacks are eye openers of a period one had forgotten.
Mr Uys thank you once again for your mastery of the stage. As my companion mentioned, " when the Icon Ms Evita steps onto the stage, she needs no introduction, the audience are left no doubt, She Is Here"

The theatre is a cozy intimate theatre and the show was top drawer. I am a fan of John Vlismus and this is the second time I have gone to see him perform. The last time was in 2017. My only criticism is that the chairs need upgrading. My back certainly felt it after an hour. Other than that I can certainly recommend the Pieter Toerien theatre and My husband and I will be back.

Regular patron.
Never attended a substandard production, or ever been disappointed with the staff or facilities.
Been seated throughout the theatre from front block, through sides and back row (most fun next to control booth) and view and sound always great.

The Pieter Toerien Theatre is a cosy theatre situated at the Monte Casino Entertainment centre. While the kids have fun at the movie theatre, play Laser-Tag or play games at the arcade, the adults can enjoy the latest shows or plays at the Pieter Toerien Theatre. It is a delightful place to spend the afternoon or evenings with family and friends. The Pieter Toerien Theatre is one of many entertainment options a tourist has at the Monte Casino entertainment centre. A variety of light hearted shows/comedies and plays are presented there on a daily basis. Ticket prices are cheap on most of the shows.

I have always been a fan of the theatre, and I have had my fair share of bad experiences, but at Pieter Toerien, you will never be disappointed. I have been to the theatres in Europe and this South African theatre can easily hold a candle to the first world counterparts overseas. Not only is the theatre itself amazing, but so are the staff, and then we come to the world class entertainment on on the stage! Honestly, if I get told that I am going to watch a show at Pieter Toerien, I am never doubtful, nervous or dubious, all I feel is confidence that I will have a good time.

We have gone to the Pieter Toerien Theatre twice. The first show we saw was Little Shop of Horrors and the second show we saw was Agatha Christie's Mousetrap. The Pieter Toerien Theatre is small and cozy. All of the seats are great. We prefer sitting in the back on the bar stools. The actors are wonderful and there is a nice variety of concessions. You won't be sorry to spend a night out here! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a wonderful show this afternoon at the theatre. The Bats entertained us with their music and mirth. They may have started in 1964, and are still performing 54 years later, but the tightness of the group was great. Their season ends tomorrow, but take my advice and go to a show when next they are in your area. Paul and Eddie, Pete and Derek will have your sides splitting with their mixture of mirth and music.

We had never been to this particulate theater before but we were impressed with how intimate and accessible this theater is. It was comfortable and most enjoyable. The show was hilarious- Porralicious.
