Beautiful forest stay; leave all signs of city life at the gate of this beauty. Recommend if you want to experience inland greenery, colors and sounds of nature that Goa has, to enjoy without disturbing much of its natural state. Simple food, simple rustic cottages, rustic pool. Not enough phone range, no TV, no AC. You won't need what's not provided, that's for sure. Enough for the child-like explorer in you to burst out with joy!

We spent three marvellous days here, and enjoyed every minute. For those looking for an action-packed vacation, go elsewhere. But if you're looking for natural tranquility, a real personal touch from the owner and staff, fantastic local food, leisurely strolls though the forest, refreshing swims, great feni and friendly dogs, this is your place!

Dudhsagar Plantation and Farmstayis an amazing little oasis to go to and escape the world for a few days.
We turned up and got shown to our cottage. It's very basic, exactly as expected, with two comfortable single beds. The bathroom is outside but surrounded by a wall with about half of it covered by a roof. It's amazing to take a shower or brush your teeth with all the bird song all around you whilst you stare at the vegetation that is all around.
There was a porch to sit on and read or just to soak up the atmosphere of this little bit of jungle that the owner has created. If you wanted to you could just completely chill out and read, meditate and listen to the world around you for the entire time you're there (if you're that way inclined). It is a very special place.
Something to note is that they have several dogs. All are friendly but a couple are very friendly. Even the none dog lover in another couple couldn't help but fall for them. I wanted to take one of them with me.
We had three nights on the plantation. The first afternoon we arrived we strolled up to their naturally cleaned swimming pool. It's bigger than expected and you can do some decent lengths if you want. There's a lovely area around the pool to chill out in and soak up some rays. What we needed immediately after the "what the hell" of Panjim.
The second day we took the 7K nature walk from the plantation around. I found it a really interesting walk. We saw all sorts of wildlife including several troops of monkeys and eagles soaring above scaring the red kites as well as the odd really small human dwelling. We got a bit lost and it turnout to be a 9K walk but the locals in the area are so friendly. We spent the time waving and smiling at them whenever we went past their homesteads. At was one of those people who kindly put us back on track.
There's another shorter walk around the edge of the plantation. We did that on the same day in the evening and saw an amazing sunset from the sunset point.
The third day we took a tour to one of the large falls in the area. Ashok, the owner, organise this all for us, we just told him what we wanted to do and when and then sat back. The tour wasn't expensive and the guide was knowledgeable (and could walk faster than any man alive up difficult trails and in only flip flops). It was inexpensive and we paid Ashok at the end of our stay.
The food is veggie and not vegan (I'm an omnivore so that was fine with me). It was good wholesome food with a variety of choices that I wouldn't normally choose so it was interesting (in a good way). I enjoyed it and was always full up. Also really loved the breakfast. If there was any comment on the food is that there could be a little bit more spice/heat in it (I think they go easy on westerners). It's served in a communal area. That might not be for some people but we enjoyed meeting the odd new person. It's still a very quiet area, there's an extremely chilled out vibe in the whole place all the time. You can grab a beer if you want but it's not a place you'll be able to drink loads and you won't want to.
The other thing we did was do the guided walk that Ashok provided around the plantation explaining what he was growing. He's such a chilled out guy that it's a very relaxing but informative stroll.
Finally we slept great. When I did wake up, as I always do, I loved just listening to the night time noises from the surrounding plantation.
I've never stayed in a place like it. It's definitely very different from the norm. I definitely recommend it if you want a break and to do something different.

This was my family of 5 (all adults) second overnight stay on our 4 day cycle tour. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating and quickly arranged lunch for our famished group. The evening Thali was excellent and we really enjoyed our first Jungle Juice made with fenni which they distill themselves. We were amazed at how many plants, fruits and spices were grown on this relatively small plantation. The rooms were very basic and clean and we enjoyed our dip in the natural pool (pond). Overall it was again a really enjoyable unique experience.

We stayed 3 nights. What a great experience: friendly staff, personal service, great location, the most delicious & healthy food and an educational tour of farm. Loved the outdoor, natural pool too :)

There is nothing fancy here, but that is the beauty. Enjoy simple, honest, village life. Among the sounds of birds and nature. Swim with the frogs in their amazing pool, wake to earthy flavors and smells. The initiatives that Ashok and his family has undertaken give us the ideal break from city life and give us the best village stay experience.

We booked stay for two days with full board package which includes spice plantation tour. Ajit uncle welcomed us along with the team of dogs. Farm area is very big under 50 acres of land. They have pasted one map which shows different locations in farm.
We stayed in family room which is very spacious having two double bed and a very big open roof bathroom. There is no need of light inside room during daytime as there are glass tiles fixed at roof.
There is nice sit out area which is also used for dining and having live kitchen for breakfast hot serving. All meals were having local authentic dishes and taste. It is good to discuss menu of every meal in advance else sometimes it may disappoint you also. There are always open to serve you as per your requirement.
We enjoyed herbal team during every meal. We also tasted cocktail made of Feni, coconut water & lemon.
We came across a bug which when touched, gets converted into hard shell & shape like betel nut. It was really amazing to see all phases.
They have five dogs ( Ushi, Kalu, Laila, Champi & Chauki) and all were good. Last two were more active. They also have cows & hens.
After having lunch and some rest, based on suggestion from Ajit uncle, we went to Quepam for purchasing cashew nut from a factory outlet within Curchore market. We could get good quality at very reasonable price which normally you won't find in Goa. Drive to Quepam was really good.
We could not manage time for spice farm tour and we were also not asked to go for it but as it was end of rainy season, we went for natural fish spa at natural water stream within farm. It was kind of adventure for us. We followed their map and could locate this place.
They have separate swimming pool for both Kids and adults. This pool has natural water without chlorine but oxygenated continuously to keep bio life alive. Pools has lots of tiny fishes and some frogs but they all do not harm you and go away. Water was warm all the time, I don't know how?
Next day we went to Dudhsagar water falls which is just 12 km from this place and while returning, we went to Salaulim dam which a must visit place specially during or post monsoon. Duck bill spill way & botanical garden is worth watching.
All areas were lush green & peaceful and roads all around were very good. We could fee that two days were not sufficient for this area.

Hi. Would this Farm Stay be suitable for an eight night stay to chill out in the middle of a month stay in Panaji (we have done it before in Kerala) Thanks John

If you like nature, and are looking for a place to relax from the typical Indian hustle and bustle, the answer is yes. You could have a look through the reviews or the property's website also for more infos. This

Hi We are staying in Carmona, how is the best way to get her....scooter or taxi....cost of scooter and do you have to have an international license...or taxi what would be the cost of a return taxi...Thanks christine
Đã viết vào 4 tháng 1, 2018
Hi there,
If you're confident to ride on Goan roads, scooter is a good way to get here, also because you'd have more flexibility to explore the surroundings (places like the Tambdi Surla Temple and Jungle Trek, Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Colonial Mansions at Chandor...). Scooter rent may be anywhere between Rs 400 and 500 a day (could be slightly lower if you rent longer). Else you can use a cab, cost of a return trip may be around Rs 2500 (will vary depending upon the car and driver).
FYI we do provide farmstay accommodation, so you may want to consider spending a couple of nights to fully enjoy the place.

it's best to hire a taxi, these will be available at the cruise terminal or could be arranged by us. If you feel comfortable driving in Goa, you could also rent a self driven car.
