We visited the pier early evening for a walk with the dogs before dinner. It was a pleasant walk, which was made more interesting by the cute little musical instruments along the way. It was very similar to the pier in Deal, Kent.

Nothing on the pier so just walk up sit for a while then walk back then notice under the pier both sides tents of homeless or illegals
But there is a nice view of the shoreline

Never in my life have I had to pay to get onto a pier until I visited here.
However once you've entered the pier there are a couple of rides that small children can do that you will also need to pay for and that's about it.
The zip wire looks great fun. Sadly we didn't try this whilst we were here but everyone seemed to have a great time who did.
The cafe / bar / restaurant at the end of the pier was nice, has ample seating, service was quick however it is also expensive.
Not sure I'd return to pay to get onto the pier to sit in a bar when you can do this along the coastline

On a sunny day the views are amazing along the coast towards Hengistbury Head and Isle of Wight the other way to Old Harry's Rocks . A lovely walk along the boards and even some fixed instruments to play along the way ! Lovely looking kiosks at the entrance with various treats and a very nice Harvester pub opposite.

now THIS is a pier. wow. I just was gobsmacked at the woodwork on this bad boy. Simple, chic, and no sticky children polluting the walk ways. A dream day out.

A short pier with very little on it except tubular bells. It is free and oksy for a dhort walk. There are nice views along the coastline in both directions

We visited on a clear, cold December day. To say it was bracing is an understatement! We enjoyed our amble and sat out of the wind listening to various people playing the musical instruments along the Pier. We liked the fact that there is no amusement arcade at the end of this Pier! Great view back to Bournemouth Pier too.

Visited here 7 years ago and returned today. 8yo loved the pier with musical instruments to keep her occupied. Mummy likes the bars where you can play I do like to be beside the seaside. We came from Bournemouth pier on the dotto train. A lovely little outing.

Loved the ambience of this beautiful pier .colourful beach huts ,a beautiful beach and a lovely pier with an amazing climate made the day all the more exciting.lovely cafes with award winning ice creams ,hot cheese loaded fries just made our day truly memorable

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely walk from Bournemouth to Boscombe pier along the promenade. Such a beautiful, classic British seaside experience. A stunning natural coastline, highly recommended.

Hi there. If we are staying very near to Boscombe beach, how many minutes walk is it to get to the nearest dog friendly beach? Someone has mentioned it’s 10 minutes one way, but how much of a walk the other way, i.e. towards Bournemouth, rather than away from it? Booked Boscombe for August without realising it’s not a dog friendly beach at that time of year! Many thanks

Despite Boscombe having a "no dogs during the summer" policy on the beach, I did see LOTS of dogs on the beach itself and no authority or Council staff telling them to leave, so it's worth the risk. If you're in a car I do highly recommend Weymouth Beach for doggie families as half of that beach is designated dog friendly all year long. It was great seeing families with their dogs enjoying a beach day, dogs swimming with their owners and kids.
