Visited here recently … Quite a few different animals to see … We also did the the armadillo experience and got very close to it … I felt it was a little on the expensive side for what it was but would recommend a visit if you are n the area

I visited earlier in the week as I wanted to take photographs of the animals and wasn't disappointed. The Lemurs in particular are adorable. I chatted to a couple of members of staff who were there and they were very friendly and happy to chat about the animals. I also visited the cafe on site (Lottie's) and had some fab carrot cake.
Overall a very enjoyable day.

We’ve been for Halloween every year and has been fab however we came for Halloween this year as the children wanted to revisit as the Facebook states a full Halloween this is not what we got! For how much this cost to come here it was so disappointing!
We got there to be told the witch wasn’t in today yet the Facebook page shows the witch to be there all through the kids holidays!
The monster hunt was poor i wouldn’t have even called it a hunt! Four wooden monsters side by side! The stamps didn’t even work so the kids couldn’t even enjoy stamping them!
Then go and hand your sheet it to a sign saying help yourself to a packet of sweets! There was no one about apart from it being decorated that’s all it was!
I could have done this myself at home and saved myself £50!
Most of the buttons round the park don’t work I’ve never seen kids walking round the park looking so disappointed!
The staff promised me a refund as a lot of staff was off with illnesses then to be told I’m not and won’t ever get a refund.
Don’t even bother emailing them as they never reply either!
So disappointed and so expensive for very little you get out of it!
You would have more fun at the local park and save a lot of money!

The animals are in tiny cages and look depressed. The red Lemur looks so sad on his own. There are guineapigs and rabbits on their own too. Everything looks run down and staff look depressed too! No bird show or anything but price has gone up?!
Bird in butterfly house can barely move in its boxy little cage. Seems cruel. Cafe food expensive and not great. Staff were all nice, but everything needs sprucing up.

Been 20 years since we last came here for a birthday party for my son who was 6 at the time and it was wonderful. Fast forward 20 years and we decided to visit again with our grandson. We were the first to arrive and tbh honest it felt like the staff weren’t ready for us …not many of the animals were out until about half an hour later. Other than the guy on reception I got a feeling of being an inconvenience. The cafe was poor….no prices on the food listed and it wasn’t good. The hot chocolate was awful and the foot long sausage …well just left it. My grandson enjoyed it a lot…and the animals that were out ..we did enjoy also. Massively overpriced for a lot of no shows and a few butterflies

Great fun for children with water being sprayed in several locations and dinosaurs making a lot of noise. Good views of the meercats. Quite expensive admission for adults especially as due to avian bird flu there is now no falconry display..
Reasonable food in the outside cafe not so good in the onsite cafe.

We decided to use our last day in Sheffield to visit the butterfly house as Megan loves them so much, what we didn’t expect was to find a hidden gem.
We arrived shortly before 1230 to find decent parking and a lovely little cafe that is open to non guests as well. As we entered the park we came to the meerkats and from there it just got better, there was lots of interactive things to do from the dinosaur trail to the animal running challenge, they have a whole host of beautiful animals ranging from chickens, to parrots, lemurs to horses, there is something for everyone,
We took part in the free armadillo experience and got to spend time with the animals and their keepers discussing them and learning about what makes the so special, I would recommend 3-4 hours for a full experience of the animals and cafe which also has some amazing food, I would suggest the signature milkshake

Had a very enjoyable 4 hrs loads to see and do and not very busy.Got a feeding bag very good lots of food to feed animals defo will be returning one day

Enjoyed the animals and butterfly house. Nice place to visit with grandchildren.
Food is expensive and only one coffee shop open. Food limited.
£5 minimum spend in shop is a cheek after nearly £50 for a sandwich lunch and over that to get in.

Could this attraction be a full day out

Probably 3 to 4 hours if you watch the parrot displays and animal feeding sessions their is a nice cafe and ride on toys for smaller children the butterfly encloser is warm to sit in on a colder day there are seats to sit on if you take your own picnics

you can spend a full day there, a minimum of 2 hrs is required, I'd probably say 3 to 5 hrs is recommended as there are lots of keeper talks spread throughout the day and this also allows time to eat whether you choose to eat in or take a picnic

I would say that it's the X5 Dinnington bus that passes not more than a mile away. There's 2 an hour through the day.

It's not free entry - you can buy tickets on line or on the day. The website has all the prices / opening times etc.

What is public transport like to the attraction. If we are getting a train to Sheffield station can we get to the butterfly house easily from there?

I am unsure in bus/train timetables but the park is not too far from Sheffield so it’s easily accessible from the town centre
