What a lovely, peaceful way to immerse yourself into Catholic culture. Information galore, opportunities to donate but free entry and beautiful architecture. Very, very quaint and somewhere you could spend hours.

WOW. This Cathedral really is a must if you find yourself in the town of Arundel. Free entry and loads on offer, the general feeling one is expected to feel is utter calmness as they enter this Cathedral with amazing traditional decor. Definitely a must!

From a mile away it looks like the kind of huge cathedral you would find while cruising down the Loire; up close you realise how small it is. It's quite impressive inside and should not be missed.

The cathedral of the Catholic diocese of Arundel and Brighton was on the 2023 feastday of Corpus Christi alive with everything but devotion to the The Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Ladies presiding over stalls, visitors walking aimlessly about and people greeting each other warmly before the reordered sanctuary a few metres from that Altar. Fortunately the monstrance on that altar did not contain a Host. Although I suspect that might not have made much difference to the loud chatter filling the building.
Consequently ZERO for atmosphere. Bishop Moth might consider a return to the days when there was a quiet and reverential atmosphere in Catholic buildings not that of an episode of the Antiques Roadshow.

The cathedral is up a steep hill from the coach park. I went there on the day before Corpus Christi and the aisle was carpeted with flowers for the Bishop to walk over the next day. The RC cathedral is fairly modern but interesting.

Interesting catholic cathedral. Gothic exterior fantastic but we were a bit disappointed with the interior.

Lovely cathedral whose exterior is in such really good condition and this is because its a "young" cathedral - only 150 years old ! :) :)
Yet it is still a great cathedral with a superb interior.

A lovely cathedral. A bit smoky when we walked in but I was fascinated by the architecture and I love that it’s built on the top of a hill and can be seen from a way away. There is a lovely gift shop inside and I bought some souvenirs as a memento of my trip here. Very glad I got the opportunity to visit.

Booked to stay in Arundel for other reasons then realised it coincided with the castles tulip festival.
Booked tickets for gardens, castle and bedrooms @ £27 each and we were not disappointed.
Spent 2 hours in the gardens, the displays of tulips were spectacular plenty of places to sit dotted around to enjoy the views and have a tea or coffee purchased from the garden cafe.
The walk inside the castle and rooms was also very interesting, knowledgeable guides in each room happy to answer any questions.

There is no charge for entrance, You can spend around 30 minutes to around an hour looking around.
Also light a candle for a loved one you are missing (I did 😊)
There is a gift shop, to look around as well, also you might want to contribute to the upkeep of the cathedral, by making a contribution (you can do this on your phone.
Be warned the walk to the cathedral is very steep.

I am afraid you can't have dogs in the castle but there are lovely grounds around the castle where you can take them
