Visited twice during our holiday. We are members of the WWT. Plenty to see both in terms of birds and flora. Cafe not cheap but good quality food. Will always return if we are in the vicinity.

My wife and I took our 7-year-old granddaughter here and we all enjoyed ourselves. We went pond dipping then saw the ducks dive for food. After that a 25-minute boat trip through the wetlands. All the staff were very friendly and informative. Highly recommended and good value! Thank you!

We love this place! Having been regular visitors for the past 8 years, my kids (aged 6 and 11) still insist on coming here throughout the year.
The thing we enjoy most is watching how different the wildlife is on each visit, and noticing all the changes with the seasons.
The staff are always so friendly and informative, especially during the feeding sessions or pond dipping activity.
It’s such a relaxed place to explore, with pond dipping, boat tours, picnic and play areas for the children. On top of this, there is always some sort of event aimed at children running, which always keeps it interesting.
If you’re planning on visiting regularly, I really recommend a membership, as it’s great value for money.

First visit for me and I had a wonderful time. From the helpful member of staff at the ticketing booth to Clive who hosted the boat safari through the reed bed, all staff I spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable. Some interesting wild Peregrine Falcon behaviour witnessed possibly due to a juvenile outstaying it's welcome from the parents. The Sand Martin hide was fantastic, such a busy and constant view of the all the adults catching food and delivering it to their chicks. Clean and tidy site that was a pleasure to wander round for over 3 hours. I will visit again if I can.

A thoroughly great day out, very relaxing, beautiful surroundings. Spent a great few hours here and well worth it. The boat ride is definitely a must and so peaceful. The pond dipping is worth a go as well. Ace not cheap so I would definitely bring a packed lunch. Facilities very clean and tidy and car park a decent side. Lots of birds to see and plenty of hides and some really lovely walks all child friendly . Great place,

Beautiful place, perfect for a relaxing stroll around natures wetland creatures.
Small extra charge for the boat trip was fab. Eco electric motor as well...

Had a good feeling about this one, free car park and nice tidy entrance
Here it where it fell short
Very expensive shop, ticket prices though the roof for 90% of the birds I have seen before on coastal trips and my local parks with a pond
Boardwalks were nice but grass is so high you make you way through so fast,
Pelicans were nice to see but most of the photos opportunities were blocked with netting or high grass, got some shots but that's prity much all I took a picture of
All the wooden hides needed serious repairs with nails showing and rot, the sandmartins hide was very cool but windows were shut to stop noise from guests with the feeding birds which I fully understand but if you are going to do that at least clean the outside first and use proper glass as it had sooooo many ripples in it taking photos was a nightmare and every photo had a issue, look at it this way you spend 4k on a camera setup and then fire though £5 glass 🙄 so all my send Martin's pics were ruined.
The windows being closed lead to frustration from adults who were dragging the seating everywhere and kids who were banging on the side doors and shouting though the gaps 🙄. We walked out, after a frustrating 40mins!
It would have been better to have a member of staff in the area and have one window open so you could stay in the hide and shoot out.
Once you leave the main entrance there is not very much at all
Expensive shop, I worse than national trust and that's saying something! Small tin thing of cold coffee over £4 😳😳😳 all the other drinks are expensive knock offs of common brands like coke and Fanta at massive expense. Would have been cheaper to use brands we all know and love.
Not a cheap day out would have been better go to a local London park like bushy or Richmond

Stayed the night before in the Norfolk Hotel. Found it very easily from the car park by the museum . Would recommend the Boat trip, very informative and our chap was very good.
Very good for Mobility Scooters, first time my partner had taken his out to a wetlands centre, we had no problems at all.
My only moan is the food! It’s all very much a much of a muchness… pasties, sausage rolls, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and cake. A bit like the National Trust.

We saw a lot of birds for the first time. The site is well laid out. We went early so no crowds which was great, we could enjoy it in peace.
Nice cafe with good view.
Will definitely return later in the spring to see new arrivals and chicks.

Rainy Friday afternoon- stopped by to see what’s what. Too wet to go round, so thought we would browse the shop and grab a sandwich, cake and coffee. Told very firmly that we couldn’t enter restaurant/cafe unless we bought entry tickets. What a con - bought nothing and won’t be going back.

Our café is for the convivence of our visitors - we are not a stand alone café. There is a very nice café across the road from us at Swanbourne Lake.

Truly it depends on two factors, how fast you walk and how much of an interest you take in the birds, I think I spent all day there but then I am quite a slow walker and was taking in my surroundings

The Wetlands Discovery Boat Safari is a first come, first served. queueing system. The first trip leaves at 11 am, with trips lasting 15-20 minutes. During busy times like Easter there are three boats operating taking 10 people each trip with only two boats operating between 1-2pm. The last boat of the day leaves at 4.30pm.

We are planning to visit the Center in a couple of weeks and we will be travelling by train from London.
With a 12 year old in tow, I don't think he will be too keen to walk the distance from the station to the center. How much would a taxi ride cost and if it's possible to call for one from the center to take us back to the train station?

Just to clarify: can people rent kayaks at the Arundel Centre, or just at the Gloucester one?

You cannot rent kayaks at Arundel Wetland Centre. We do have a free boat ride in electric boats piloted by a wildlife guide.
