A city hall would not normally be on a ‘must see’ list but it is certainly worth making the time to visit this one. A really magnificent building outside and even better inside. Add to that a good exhibition which meanders through dozens of the ground floor rooms and it is something not to be missed.

so sad for dont have tour visit at my day that cancelled pm timeslot which was my only day here so that missed it but just walk around outside and view some exhibition

Today we decided to visit the town hall after being told how beautiful it was inside , we were sure given the right info.
It is a stunning building outside and absolutely beautiful inside.
Free to visit, there are great statues out the front in the garden and as you walk into the foyer it sure has the WOW factor.
There are many rooms to visit with lots of information on display .
Make sure you put aside some time to visit.

We zijn hier terechtgekomen omdat we na een busrit dringend naar het toilet moesten ;-). Het was alleszins één van de betere plaatsen om eens naar het toilet te gaan. Ondertussen ook nog even genoten van het oude stadhuis en de minitentoonstelling over de Titanic.

Our visit luckily coincided with the start of an interesting free guided tour which takes in the key rooms of this palatial building. The contrast between this and a republican taxi tour of west Belfast couldn't be more poignant. The city hall being a bastion of imperialism which perhaps stands for everything that the Nationalists have spent over a hundred years fighting against! Both equally fascinating & compelling in equal measure and a must for any tourist wanting to understand what makes this place tick

L’imponente palazzo è stato ultimato nel 1906 in stile edoardiano-barocco, la verde cupola è alta 53m, bella anche la grande sala che ti accoglie appena entrato. Si trova in pieno centro e da lì si può partire per la visita della città.

Definitely include a visit - and go inside! Such a beautiful building with so much history and it’s free! Four tours a day (we did the 11am) - really informative and, again, free of charge! Times of tours on website.

Amidst this spectacular building is an exhibition of the history of Belfast. Ranging over ten rooms on the ground floor, it is easily accessible and very detailed but easy to understand. Well put together in this lovely building.

Walking around Belfast City centre a place to visit is the City Hall. Huge building , open to visit. We found an exposition and we took advantage to see it and to visit a little bit the ground floor of this building. Always busy, guided visits available to book.

Due to refurbishments there may be some disruptions for visitors to City Hall.

Public tour times
From 1 June 2016 to 30 September 2016 the tour times will be:
Monday to Friday: 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12 noon, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
From the 1 October 2016 public tours will take place:
Monday to Friday at 11am, 2pm and 3pm
Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon, 2pm and 3pm
Led by an experienced guide, tours last around an hour and include the history of Belfast City Hall and its finest features. The tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors must register 10-15 minutes before the tour is due to depart at the Main Reception of City Hall.
Although public tours of City Hall are free of charge, donations are kindly accepted for the development of the tour service. Donation boxes can be found at the main City Hall reception desk.
The tour service on bank holidays and public holidays is subject to change.

I have friends coming over for 2 & 3 July i.e. Saturday & Sunday. Can you pls tell me if they would need to book for the tour, what are the times of the tour, and if open on the Sunday?

You need to get there and sign in at the little desk. They are a dirty come first served. When we were there people were turned away. Belfast City got UK website should help for times etc extract is below couldn't add website!
