So you think it was a church, but was not. From the beginning is administrative building was constructed with this stile. It is a museum as well as the major’s office.

History is very well presented to visitors. The exhibition materials were very informative. Lots of artifacts to view. I was particularly struck by the contents of the glass time capsule. The stain glass windows were very descriptive,not the originals but still impressive. John Humes display of his peace awards was great to see. Well worth a visit. Entrance is free.

Whilst there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Guildhall, having read about it beforehand, I was a little disappointed with this as an attraction. All the staff I spoke to their informative and helpful. The stain glass windows at one end were quite spectacular.

The Guild Hall really stands out in Derry. There is an exhibition about Derry and the guild hall on the ground floor which is interesting. You can go upstairs to seethe hall and the highlight of the magnificent stained glass windows. There is a lift to go up to the hall and there are good toilet facilities here. The attendant at the front door was welcoming and advised where to go and what to see. Entry was free.

My parents throughly enjoyed their visit to the Guildhall and this was due to the excellent customer service from Laura. As elderly visitors they really appreciated the time she took to assist them and she was not only very knowledgeable but also friendly and helpful as well making the whole experience a memorable one.

This was an ideal place for us to learn a little bit about Ulster Plantation and the beginnings of civil unrest in Ireland. The tour is self-guided and there are a few hands-on activities as well as a film and quite a bit of written information.
We actually visited the exhibit twice - once to acquaint ourselves with the area and a second time to reframe the information and put it into perspective after learning more about more recent history.
The building itself is beautiful, and there’s a nice display about John Hume upstairs, including his Nobel Peace Prize. All in all, a good place to go.
One of the guides, Colin, was particularly helpful to us and his kindness was much appreciated.

The Guildhall is a functional civic building, but there are exhibitions which are open to the public free of charge. It is a very attractive historic building and we were made to feel very welcome by the receptionist.
There is a very good and comprehensive exhibition on the ground floor, which explains the history of communities that were formed as plantations. On the first floor, there is also a short film about Bloody Sunday.

Impressive & Insightful. John Hume Nobel Peace Prize was the highlight. Definitely worth visiting to understand Derry city history.

We really enjoyed walking around the guildhall. The stained glass windows were beautiful and it looks amazing from the outside too.

When we arrived at the Guildhall there was an Exhibition on the Planation of Ireland on the ground floor. While we were there, we could hear the organ being played upstairs and were lucky to catch a glimpse of a small wedding party who had come to get their photos taken. We also had a pleasure of seeing the collection of awards that John Hume's wife had donated to the Guildhall, after his death. These were received for his continuous efforts in putting together the Peace Progress. Well worth a visit

I think as I can remember there is a throne on the 2nd floor where you can sit and there is a cape/robe you can put on.
Possibly?
