The pub is a dump, it needs a deep clean,and the "lady" behind the bar did not stop swearing very loudly,also screaming like a banshee.
Very unprofessional behaviour. We visited on a Friday night,there was only six people including us in. No one should have to listen to a screaming swearing bar staff when visiting a pub. Just not on.

Had a really pleasant “Sunday funday” at this very fine establishment!
The locals are very special! (Indeed)
The fire cracker sandwiches were amazing and the fire cracker shots were equally as good!😀🙌🏻
I didn’t participate in the dominoes competition but the steak pie prize looked fantastic!🥧🥰
Andy the bar manager was very pleasant and very accommodating!
Really looks after his customers!👌🏻
I loved the decor, especially the picture of a world war 2 tank and the big Indian chief!
It was very lively with a great mixture of age groups!
I would also highly recommend the specialty cocktail they serve, called Venom!

My friend was attacked by a very over hyper little person but this seemed to be part and parcel of the Waverley’s allure.
Some would say that maybe this was an initiation ritual!??🤷🏻♂️
But all in jest and really good fun!
The guy in the toilet with his exploding wallet was also very entertaining and very enthusiastic! Infact some of the toilet shenanigans were highly amusing!
Would definitely recommend and will definitely frequent this very fine establishment again! It’s 5 stars from me!

Aye it’s a quite alright pub however I have a something I would like the owner to consider adding. Would u mind having a karaoke on a Friday or Saturday night I love a bit of a sing song so I do, thanks again 🙏

had a really awesome experience here!! young girl who i believe was named lacey? was collecting glasses and although she was young she certainly had better customer service skills than some adults in other establishments was really lovely to see!! xx

I was in there on Saturday and we were looked after brilliantly by the bar staff. Really friendly people and brilliant service. Good location too being right beside the train station. Definitely worth a visit. And thanks for the lift to the game when our taxi didn't turn up :-)

Spent a week in Dumfries in August 2015.The Waverley was the nearest pub to our B&B and pet friendly.We ate here most nights and the food was good.Great banter with the locals and the quiz nights were good fun.Recommended.The uploader won't allow me to select the correct date.

If you're a traveler stopping in Dumfries, this place is a cool little pub suited for everyone. Seems to be a place where locals and visitors go alike. Good beer, good prices, great little environment. Staff was also super great.

Spent an afternoon here recently watching the football with some friends. A great atmosphere with great service, ok food and very well priced. I will return again and again.

The Waverley is a really good bar. Interesting decor that gives the place a haphazard but welcoming feel. We came out early and there was a good "early doors" atmosphere along with good service and top quality Tennents.
If you're hungry they also do a good range of simple, comforting pub grub and snacks.
What's not to like?
