Originale et sympathique, cette immersion dans le monde viticole a été riche d'enseignements. Passionnée par sa région, notre guide nous a permis de comprendre les secrets de fabrication du champagne grâce à la visite d’une petite cave de la région. Merci à Maëva (et à son van Marie )

We booked a private tour for the whole day and were picked up from Châlons-en-Champagne. As our French isn't very good, we had asked for a tour in English, which worked perfect.
Maeva explained a lot about the landscape, the growing of the grapes, production of champagne. We visited two 'caves', had 3 tastings and a very delicious lunch in Hautevillers. Driving through the small roads through the vineyards, visiting the producers who really work as a family business were an interesting experience. Now I appreciate a glass of champagne even more than I did before.
I enjoyed every minute.

My adult daughters, and I had a wonderful day doing this tour in Reims. It was so nice to visit the smaller Champagne house, see the vineyards, and learn about the process. Our guide was so passionate and informative, we had so much fun with him. I would highly recommend this tour.

In een vintage Renault, genaamd Louise' vertrokken we vanuit het VVV gebouw in Reims.
Via landweggetjes door druivenvelden reden we naar de top van de heuvel met een schitterend uitzicht op Reims.
Onderweg kren we uitleg over de bodemsamenstelling, de druivensoorten en een deel van het verwerkingsproces van de champagne.
We daalde an naar een klein dorp waar we bij het huis van Fagot een proeverij hadden. Deze proeverij bevatte enkele soorten champagne waaronder een vintage (15 jaar oud). Uitleg over de diverse smaken van de druiven in de tijd van rijping. De verschillen tussen brut en doux.
Een rondleiding door het huis (van pers tot kurk) leerde ons het proces rondom de champagne.
Leuke dame!! Kekke wagen! Goed te volgen verhaal...

de gidsen waren zeer begeesterd. We hebben veel geleerd. Bovendien hadden ze hun uiterste best gedaan om er een gepersonaliseerde toer van de maken. De vintage busjes zijn geweldig. De tasting midden in de wijngaarden was tof met initiatie in de sabrage. Leuk !

Bit of a hiccup at the start .... one van arrived - took 4 passengers, but 6 of us who had booked via Airbnb were asked to wait for their colleague. Other van didn't arrive, so one of our group rang them. Not sure what had happened ... but anyway all was resolved and another vintage van arrived !
We set off through the vineyards, stopped for photo opportunities with explanations about the growing and harvesting.
Stopped at a family owned Champagne house, a guided tour through the cellar and were able to taste 3 champagnes. Absolutely gorgeous !

La visite était très agréable, Maeva, notre guide, était très aimable, sympathique et nous a donné beaucoup d'informations. La cave à vin que nous avons visitée était très bonne, avec des vins de grande qualité, dépassant nos attentes. Une excellente journée.

Hello Maeva,
My husband and I will be in Epernay on Friday 20th July by train arriving around 10am and only staying one night unfortunately. We would love to visit some of the large champagne houses, such as GH Mumm and Dom Perignon but also some smaller boutique houses such as Paul-Etienne St Germain, Champagne Janisson Baradon et Fils tasting and tour and Champagne Domi. I would imagine that this tour may take up to 5 hours plus lunch. Would you please quote how much this will cost us please?
