Whilst waiting in a line one of the staff approached with a sign on her shoulder. She turned around and the sign hit me in the face near to my right eye. When I spoke to the manager he apologised for the accident, therefore admitting it occurred and his staff caused it. I could not get him to understand why it was the same member of staff was still working with the public. In fact the manager raised the stakes by suggesting the police should be involved. No further action against the staff who caused my injury was suggested by the manger and she was still working with the public.

今回のパリ旅行中にたまたま「美術館無料の日」がありました。現地に入ってから知ったので、超ラッキー！と思いオランジェリーに行くことに。（オルセーやルーブルは混んでて入れなさそうだったので。）着いてみて、誰も並んでいなくてまたまた超ラッキー！と思ったのですが、なんと事前予約が必要だとのこと。全く知りませんでした。冷たく、「今日のTicketは午前も午後もありません。」と言われるだけ。僕達以外にも多くの人が入口で追い返されていました。今回のパリ旅行で唯一悔しかった事です。

This is a small museum which houses the fabulous Claude Monet Wafer lily pieces which are well worth the visit .
We purchased the entry tickets online along with the audio guides.

La visita a questo museo è imprescindibile, non solo per le ninfee di Monet ma anche per una pinacoteca che racchiude il meglio degli impressionisti. 2 ore circa di visita sono sufficienti per uscire soddisfatti.

This was our first visit to L^Orangerie and we enjoyed it. The water lillies murals are a must see. The other paintings on the floor below should not be missed. This is a small museum with nice impressionist art.

This museum is all about Monet's Water Lilies. Two spacious rooms house four massive murals each. There are other works sprinkled about the rooms on the lower level; they add some variety to the experience. Have no illusions though; if you are not interested in gazing at (and hopefully marveling at) Monet's masterpieces for whole minutes, then do yourself a favor and skip this museum. For lovers of impressionist art, however, this is as lovely an experience as there is. Book an entry time online and you will have almost no wait to gain entry.

Worth it for the water lilies alone. They’re stunning, I was not expecting them to be so massive and extensive. They are showcased beautifully, the lighting in the museum is gorgeous. I will say it’s a very small museum, could easily be seen in less than an hour, but the water lilies make up for the admission prices alone.

Le musée est relativement petit, le tour est fait en 2-3 heures. Les Nymphéas sont vraiment magnifiques, ils sont mis en valeur dans 2 pièces ovales. On peut s'assoir au milieu de la pièce et les admirer. D'autres belles œuvres sont également à admirer. Il manque cruellement de bancs pour se reposer et profiter de la fraîcheur et de la beauté des œuvres et c'est dommage.
Pensez à prendre les tickets avant, sinon on peut les prendre directement à l'entrée au guichet.

This is not a large museum. In addition to Monet’s rooms of water lilies, there is also several rooms of painting by prominent painters such as Picasso, Cessna, and Renoir.
The Monet rooms are, of course, magnificent. We did not have reserved times but we’re able to get in after about 45 minutes. It was worth it.

I visited L'Orangerie on my 6th trip to Paris to coincide with my visit to Giverny. I first tried to walk into the museum without a pre-purchased ticket. I waited online about 45 minutes without the line moving before giving up and buying a timed ticket through a third party agency for the next day. When I arrived, I spoke with people at the front of the line who told me they had been waiting over three hours. I was grateful for my timed ticket. Unfortunately, even with limited entry, the museum is too crowded for its size. There is a sign in the entry stating that the water lilies are meant to be enjoyed quietly, but of course the majority of the tourists ignored it. The space felt very crowded and loud and it was hard to appreciate the art. The water lilies are the main attraction and it's a quick visit. I may have stayed longer if I could have sat with them a bit, but it wasn't worth it with the crowds. The temporary exhibit on the lower level was definitely worth a visit and it was in a larger space, so felt more comfortable. Overall, I'd say the museum is worth a visit with timed tickets but I would not wait in any kind of line for entry.

When are tickets released? I’m trying to reserve tickets in advance and am 60-days out. Most other sites allow pre bookings but l’Orangerie seems to only allow bookings 30-days out. Am I missing something?

Truthfully, we lucked out on our morning walk and went right in without tickets.

Hi, is the Combination Ticket to d’Orsay and l’Orangerie still being sold? Does it Include an easy access line? If not, can I buy that separately or in another package? Thank you.

As of two weeks ago there were very few tourists in Paris. I don’t know about the combo ticket. You do need to reserve online for the Orangerie. There was less than a 10-minute wait to enter the Orsay. Excellent time to experience Paris.

Hi there, actually, you can book your tour 15 mins before at the register or book it online. Sorry, for some reason Tripadvisor does not let me copy the site where you can book. but follow these steps:
1. on the landing page, go to the right and choose the (fourth, top to bottom) orange circle that says "diary"
2. Scroll down to the Monday you want to book, if it is next week, then it must be Monday Feb 17th at 9:45 am
3. Click on the blue title "English guided tour: The Nymphéas [Water Lilies], Claude Monet"
4. on the right column, at the bottom click on booking and follow the steps to book your tour.
Have a great time, it is an amazing museum!

Are the paintings replications or originals? This sounds like such a stupid question, but I went today and they had Seurat's Un dimanche après-midi à la Grande Jatte on display, but I thought that was housed at the Art Institute of Chicago. I studied the description and didn't see "replica." I'm so confused. Did I see the real thing?

I found my answer. I learned that master artists often did "Etudes" or "Studies" before or while working on their masterpieces to try out or perfect a technique-rather like a rough draft or brainstorming session for a piece of writing. The Seurat at L'Orangerie that I asked about is an etude for Un dimanche après-midi à l'île de la Grande Jatte, which is the masterwork hanging in the Art Institute of Chicago.
Must I use combo tickets on same day.?

No. L'Orangerie is a completely different experience from the D'Orsay. If the Impressionists and Post-impressionists are your main interest, head for the top (5th) floor of the D'Orsay--before you get tired out!
