A ne pas manquer, 10 euros l'aller et retour. ça vaut la peine on survole dans un grand calme le vignoble .Praticable avec un petit effort pour ceux qui ont le vertige, car c'est haut mais très doux comme vitesse. Arrivé au sommet de belles ballades à pied sont possibles.

A peaceful ride up and down the beautiful hillside above the vineyards from Rudesheim to the Niederwald monument. The gondolas seat two people and provide plenty of spectacular far reaching views across the vineyards and river to the hills and towns in the distance. You can take a round trip or walk one way. Cafe and other facilities are available near the monument and cable car station at the top.

Ist eigentlich ein Must-Do in Rüdesheim. Bei schönem Wetter einfach ein Traum über den Weinbergen dahinzugleiten. Wird nur recht schnell sehr voll und die Warteschlange immer länger, aber definitiv die Warterei wert!

Fremragende og smuk tur op over vinmarkerne, og med den skønneste udsigt over Rhinen. Et absolut must hvis man besøger Rüdesheim. Smuk gåtur omkring mindesmærket på toppen.

The cable car is just outside the zoo. The view is over the river Rhein. It’s not the most dramatic views because it goes over a main road too. You have an option to get off and walk around the park or to just ride the cable car back.
The park the over end is worth having a walk in, some nice flowers and trees and a lovely walk.

Nice ride to up both during spring and winter. It was a bit cold as expected, however views are stunning from the ride and at the hill. Strongly recommended.

Totally worth it!
Rudesheim is one of the ports along the Viking Rhine Cruise. I wanted to go on this gondola ride to see the big statue instead of the ship’s planned excursions. This was an excellent self-tour, very worth it. There is directional signage from the dock all the way through town, so it is easy to find even though the entrance itself is tucked in off the street. It is right by the Christmas shop.
The cost for the ride was low. You can also drive to the park/statue but what’s the fun in that! My husband is scared of heights but the gondola made him feel very secure. It’s a small car—built just for two people seated knee to knee. The top is covered in case it rains but the upper part of the car is open so it is colder as you go up but it provides a great view of the city, the Rhine, and the orchards below. It takes maybe 10 minutes or so to get to the top. The price is round trip, but you can also walk down through the vineyards. At the top are some food options (bretzels and beer) but they close before sunset. At the top is a wonderful open park with trails, statues, and buildings all made to provide pretty and fun backdrops to go with the scenery and beautiful forest.

Have been on the cableway before so looked forward to it. Long cableway but not steep gradient . 10 euro return note finishes at 5pm weekdays and 7pm weekends
On our trip it took us into the snow at the higher level . It is an open cab and they provide a blanket if required nice and fresh with great views of the river area up or down
There was an opportunity to purchase a small bottle of local sparkling wine plus two cable car novelty glasses excellent value fir the trip .Try using the lift in daylight but also in the dark both are worth doing

Per their website they will be closed for November and during the Christmas market at Rudesheim. Looks like renovation work. I hope this helps!

Several years ago I did a round ticket trip up in the cable car and down in the ski lift to ferry to castle and then ferry back to Rudesheim. Is this ticket still available? I will be visiting end of November and would love to bring my grandson on this trip.

I did this trip in July and it was fantastic we stopped for lunch at an amazing restaurant before we got on the boat. I don't know what the situation is in the winter

When you get off the seilbahn there was only an imbiss with tables for a beer and maybe a bratwurst (the views were good); if you walk for about 20-25 min toward the seilbahn to Assmannhausen you'll pass the Hotel Jagdschloss Niederwald, I think they had a nice courtyard to have a formal meal.

I posted this question on the Niederwald Monument site and I now realize I should have posted this question on this site. Therefore, my questions are as follows:
We will be going on an Avalon trip this July. We plan on skipping the Siegfried's Mechanical Museum since we have seen it already. Will we have sufficient time to visit the town and also go to the top and back on the gondola? How much time approximately should we allocate to walk form the town to the gondola, take pictures from the summit and then return down and subsequently walk back to the ship? Also, is the open air gondola which is only for two people very small? I am concerned that my wife may be somewhat nervous about using it. Thank you for your advise.
