These bridge houses are definitely must see when visiting Erfurt as they are so unique. At the other hand I was not really amazed. Maybe because I had big expectations. What I enjoyed what is the atmosphere at this place. People sitting along the river, relaxing, talking to each other. I felt so good and didn´t want to leave.

I stayed at the Hotel Krämerbrücke in Erfurt for 6 days during the Catholic Day and was completely satisfied. I was particularly impressed by the super friendly and attentive team at reception. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And of course the central location is brilliant. The breakfast buffet was very extensive. If I ever come back to Erfurt, I'll be happy to stay at this hotel again!

Beautiful old town, small, cute alleys, delicious food on every corner. Erfurt is a beautiful city that is always worth a visit.

In the middle of the old town, bridge with shops and houses spanning a stream.
Very pretty and romantic.

We stayed at the Hotel Krämerbrücke for one night and had certain expectations based on the reviews and the 4-star category.
When we arrived (before check-in time) we stood at the reception for 10 minutes without the employee there paying us the slightest attention. She was on the phone without even looking up once.
After 10 minutes another employee came and we were allowed to fill out the registration form, the room could not be occupied until 3:00 p.m. During the "check-in" process we reserved a table in the adjoining restaurant "Zum Alten Schwan", which is also open to guests from outside.
When we picked up our key in the late afternoon, the employee was on the phone again, or was she still on the phone?
The double room with balcony faced the back towards the parking lot. The balcony was more of an exit for smokers. We didn't use it.
The armchair in the room had also seen better days, keyword peeling imitation leather. The bed sheet was so wrinkled that you would think it hadn't been changed for a long time. We complained and it was changed immediately.
The bathroom was clean and stocked with small toiletries.
When we went to the restaurant for dinner that evening, we stood around for a while again because there was no staff to be seen. After a while, an employee came and we told him that we had a reservation. The employee, indignant, "what do you mean by reserved...now? ...Today?...
Yes, today for 7 p.m. Then the answer... sit down where there is free space.
Well, that was quite a greeting.
The food was rather average. The empty plates stood on the table for ages, and not just ours. Some tables looked like a battlefield even though the restaurant wasn't full.
No one asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. The whole thing was disappointing.
The next morning, breakfast.
Unfortunately, the same picture continued here. The cheapest pre-baked rolls, dried cheese, bone-dry scrambled eggs, hard pancakes, etc. We don't know when we last had such a bad hotel breakfast.
All in all, we can't quite understand the reviews on various portals. For a price of almost €170, we would have waited longer.
The really positive thing is the hotel's absolutely great location in the middle of the old town.
That's how we personally experienced the stay.

I don't understand the hype about this bridge. When you're on it, you don't notice that it's a bridge - you don't see any water, but an old town alley, which is undoubtedly nice to look at, but nothing special. The view from the side is more interesting. But even then it doesn't look like a particularly interesting bridge, just a small stream running through two arches under a few houses. My conclusion: It's worth seeing if you're there anyway. But it's not an outstanding sight that I would go there specifically for.

The Kramer Bridge, or Merchants' Bridge, has the particular characteristic of being bordered on both banks by a series of typical buildings which over time have made it one of the symbols of the town of Erfurt. Passing over it, among a series of picturesque shops and workshops, you almost don't realize how it is structured, but once you see it from the outside you will be able to understand its originality. The stone bridge was built during the 14th century, in place of an older wooden one. It deserves at least a pass.

The Krämerbrücke is a must-see in Erfurt, but you should expect that it is often too crowded and you therefore cannot enjoy the place much.

Don't just stroll across the bridge, but also walk around the entire complex. The ever-changing perspectives are fascinating.

The city of Erfurt with all its history and this old town is a pearl. The people in Erfurt are open and friendly! The historical surroundings of Weimar, Wartburg and what we must never forget! The Buchenwald concentration camp, what happened there, must not be denied or trivialized! We owe it to the victims.

From memory, most of the shops keep fairly normal "small business" times ... closing around 17:30-18:00. Again, I think there's only one café/restaurant on the bridge, which I don't think is open in the evening. However there are a number of restaurants that open in the evening around the square at the end of the bridge that's further from the town - the bridge opens directly into the square, and the first of them are in the portal to the bridge.

No. Most accommodation in the city includes parking, and the main part of the city can be explored on foot or using the excellent tram system. However parking in the city is limited - if you're making a day visit park in one of the Park & Ride sites and get the tram into the centre. (It's usually best to get a day ticket, or a family day ticket, on the trams.) The excellent tourist information office is a short walk from the Fischmarkt tram stop.
