Nonostante non si può visitare completamente per alcune ristrutturazioni in corso ( che non danno fastidio ) vale la pena di visitare questo ex ospedale patrimonio dell’umanità.

Sant Pau - Neoklassik und Jugendstil vom Feinsten

Das ehemalige Klinikgelände ist eine Ruheoase inmitten der Stadt, wir fanden es eher zufällig und sind begeistert vom Ambiente dieses Ortes. Neoklassik und Jugendstil ohne Ende, liebevoll restauriert. Und lange nicht so überlaufen wie die Hotspots Sagrada, Guell und Gaudi.
Wer die Sagrada besucht hat und sich ein wenig erholen möchte ist hier absolut gut aufgehoben, und das auch noch in unmittelbarer Nähe!

Other remarkable Spanish architects remain in the shadow of the brilliant Antonio Gaudi – and above all, Lluís Domènech i Montaner. This statement refers to Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau.., it seems to me that this architectural gem is underestimated. But these buildings are on the UNESCO World Heritage Lists. Moreover, it was included back in 1997, becoming one of the first buildings of the twentieth century there. You need to see this beauty yourself!

Beautiful structure
Actually a hospital built or designed by a contemporary of Gaudi.

Quite interesting and most unusual and elaborate building. Very interesting to those in the medical profession.

Wonderful visit to an architectural masterpiece!

The buildings outside and inside are extraordinary! After having seen a number of Gaudi's buildings, we were interested to learn of this architect's (Montaner) work. He was a contemporary of Gaudi and also considered a fantastic architect. It is a beautiful complex and we enjoyed the architecture very much. Also - anyone involved in the medical profession would enjoy the exhibits of early 20th century medicine and patient care at this museum.

Nice hospital
Nice hospital with nice architecture. Lower cost than the other attractions in Barcelona. A gift to my wife for her birthday. She loved it as she is a hospital worker. Good experience.

Extraordinary story and extraordinary art nouveau architecture

This place is a revelation. It’s close to Sagrada Familia or at least a gentle stroll and is on an axis so the great cathedral is visible at all times. The entry fee is low and it’s not crowded. The complex is very large and one can easily do a self directed tour as the information is good. As a concept it is extraordinary and pinch yourself and remember it’s a hospital and was a working hospital with a new and enlightened concept around the environment suitable for healing. Compare that to the soulless get well factories we have today. Each building is a gem and there are a great many that are complete while there are some undergoing sympathetic restoration. The architecture is so thoughtful jewel after jewel of amazing Catalan Art Nouveau.. not Gaudi so something different and slightly crazy and imaginative and outstanding. You can wander around for hours and it’s such a restful place with the planning of such beautiful gardens between the buildings. You can chill out rest and feel recuperated which I guess was the original intention and it’s still working today even if it’s not a hospital. It is a wonderful space and for me one the absolute highlights of the trip to Barcelona. I saw this right after Sagrada Familia which left me speechless and for this place to leave such an impression after that is testimony to how good it is and it really left a lasting impression on me and hence my strong recommendation
