I was excited to return to Casa Mila after visiting it years ago with a school trip. This time I was bringing my parents and my son (19 months old). I checked the website beforehand to try and determine whether the visit would be doable with my son in his stroller - I had successful visits to other museums earlier in the week by bringing my son in his stroller at nap time - he slept through the visit and I got to enjoy the exhibits and didn’t have to worry about him disturbing other patrons. On the website I couldn’t find anything specific to strollers, but found impressive information about accessibility for visitors in wheelchairs and with mobility issues. I mistakenly assumed this meant the exhibits would also be accessible for strollers.
When I arrived, I found that I was expected to leave the stroller in the checked bags area. As I was given no choice, I did this and attempted the tour with my son without the stroller. This was really not a good experience. He quite enjoyed climbing up and down the stairs on the roof, but once we got to the attic, while he was well-behaved for a toddler, he was still, well, a toddler, and I had absolutely no chance of listening to the audioguide or seeing any of the displays while also making sure he wasn’t disturbing other guests. I quickly left the attic, but found that the furnished apartment area was even less suitable - I had to carry him to ensure he didn’t touch any of the period furniture or cross the barriers into the rooms, and as he is too heavy to carry for long, I basically skipped the apartment and ended my visit having seen nothing in detail but the roof.
I completely understand that some attractions are not suitable for young children or for strollers, and I would have been more than happy to skip Casa Mila if I had known this was the case. But the information available on the website was insufficient to make the appropriate decision. My understanding now is that while the tour is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility, such visits may require personalized facilitation by the museum staff. I do not at all expect such accommodations for me and my child, and would not want to divert those resources from less mobile guests. I just wish I had had accurate information to inform my decision about whether or not to visit Casa Mila with my son. Hopefully other parents will see this review and make a better choice than me!
All of this being said, from what I remember from my first visit and what I was able to glimpse during this visit, I would highly recommend this attraction to visitors without small children - a really unique building with seemingly very well-done displays about Gaudi's work.

If George Lucas was truly impressed and influenced by the Gaudi chimneys and structures, you'll see it in the front of the Sagrada Familia and on the rooftop here. Darth Vader, stormtroopers. The rooftop lightshow is fun, and the view of the Madrid streets on a clear night is beautiful.

Thanks for your comments, we’re glad that you enjoyed your experience at Casa Mila. As you say, the night experience at La Pedrera is an absolutely unique, immersive experience that’s full of surprises and will amaze everyone. Now you can also enjoy a new combined ticket: La Pedrera by day and by night, two follow-up visits to live the magic of the Casa Mila day and night.
Sincerely,

Casa Milà – ist eine historische Sehenswürdigkeit, was man besuchen sollte.

We loved touring this building as they have displays of how affluent people lived in the early 20th century. Moreso, they had exhibits on how Gaudi worked his structures. Very enjoyable.

There was a reduction in the entrance fee due to my Disability. I have MS and was on my Mobility scooter. This is an Amazing building and the Staff did a brilliant job in helping me to gain access to the various parts of this beautiful Gaudi building. I would recommend you visit too!!!

Less of a wow than Casa Battló. The guide seemed intent on describing all of Antoni Gaudi's works so if you are not planning on also going to Parc Guell, Sagrada Familia, or Casa Battló this might be a decent option. However, those are worth it independently so I wouldn't recommend.
The regular tour consists of walking up 8 flights of stuffy stairs and then the majority of the sights include time on the very exposed (read: extremely sunny and hot) rooftop terrace (where the cool chimneys, views and sculptures and trencadis are). Beware, it is very hot -- would recommend early morning or evening and there was crawling with tourists

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion about Casa Milà. We are really glad that you find it worth to visit. This building, considered as a “petrified wave” or a “giant sculpture” is interesting for those who are into architecture, art, Modernisme or Gaudí, as well as for those who are not. As you say, the Whale Attic with the Gaudí exhibition offers a broad view of his work, showing the most basic traits of his clearly visual and empirical way of understanding architecture through models, audiovisuals and objects. The route around the space is divided into seven areas, one of which is devoted entirely to La Pedrera.
Sincerely,

I have been to Casá Milá two times now and I can't get enough. I will visit again next time I am in Barcelona. I just love it. It is an architectural masterpiece and also tells the story of Gaudí and how he evolved as an artist and architect.

magnifique visite d’un lieu mythique et d’une architecture des plus surprenantes surtout en prenant en considération l’epoque a laquelle l’immeuble a été conçu!

Quanti sono i gradini per salire fino in cima?grazie

About the stairs, nowadays La Pedrera has 2 lifts that allow visitors to reach the roof top during the visit. Even if we recommend to use the service stairs because every single corner of the house is worth to be seen, visitors are also welcome to use the lift if they prefer it.
Sincerely,
Hello, does anyone know whether you can take small dogs with you that fit into a bag? I know that pets are generally not allowed, but I hope there might be an exception if they are in a container.

We booked the night tour a couple of months ago, but now its not looking like we will be able to get into Spain at all due to travel bans. (We're from the US). Does anyone know if there is any possibilty for a refund?
Alba Tosquella
Barcelona, Tây Ban Nha
If for whatever reason you decide to change the date of your visit, we will manage to change it. But if finally you cannot visit La Pedrera, we will refund you the amount of your ticket. The Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, which manages La Pedrera, wants to offer maximum flexibility to people interested in visiting the building.
It is forecast to rain this evening. Is it a bad idea to buy tickets for La Pedrera Night Experience?

Dear visitor, for safety reasons, The Night Experience visit is closed to the visitors in case of rain. We hope you can visit us the next time.

If we come to the evening tour, how long is the tour? I see that they are also timed so if we get tickets for 22:20 will that give enough time to explore?

I did the morning one. Although it’s light until 22:30, I don’t know whether you will be able to explore the roof top terrace as well as you could in the daytime.

Cordiali saluti,
Stephanie
