This little palace should not be missed on your visit to Barcelona. From the moment you walk through the front gate you are mesmerized by the ironwork, stone and wood work. The pictures do not do it justice!! Gaudi created an amazing work of art here. Also, it’s a lot less expensive and less busy than the other houses. We walked right up to the ticket office and paid 12€ and that included an audio guide in the language of your choice. Amazing visit from the basement stables to the rooftop chimneys!!!

This is slightly more conventional than other Gaudi work. Visiting here was less crowded as it may not be as well known. A good value visit with some beautiful architechture.

This site is very different from other Gaudi works. It is less playful and fairytale-like and more traditional. It more resembles the more serious houses of other top-class businessmen. Except for the typical Gaudi chimneys!
If you want to see the essence of Gaudi, probably not the top pick. If you want to see more of his work and compare to his later and more bold creations, Guell palace is a great place to go.
Except Casa Batlló and Casa Mila the price here is very affordable.
Interesting is the owner of this house Guell is the same person, who comissioned creation of Guell park. It is a shame, you do not learn more about the family and why they decided to move their living into park.

Another strongly recommended site to check out while in town. Palau Guell can be explored on your own or with a complimentary audio tour. If time allows, I recommend using the audio guide.
Palau Guell is the definition of bigger than it seems. Judging quickly from the outside I felt I would be in and out in less than a half hour. However, taking my time with the tour and going at a relaxing pace while closely examining a few of the rooms, I found myself exploring for well over an hour.
You may think Palau Guell is good to save for a rainy day. While there is lots to see and do indoors, the roof is open and offers a few unique view points.
Again, highly recommended.

The Park Guell is AMAZING and needs to be seen with a competent guide to truly appreciate what you are seeing. It was astounding that this beautiful 47 acre park was designed and created in 1900. If you are in Barcelona, you MUST visit Park Guell

I loved the house - not a place I’d want to live but the architectural design is fantastic. I rated it only a 4 though because we were there at the same time as a large guided group - and the property is not large enough for such groups. In addition, there are not enough toilets.

We were favorably impressed. It doesn’t look like much from the street, but what a marvel inside. Also, this is not an apartment building, or a cathedral, but one family’s home. Amazing what he has done, including a stable downstairs and fancy chimneys on top. Audio guide included, and valuable.

El exterior es poco reflejo de lo que te vas a encontrar. Después de vivir la experiencia de la Casa Batlló y de la Sagrada Familia este Palau te deja frío de otro tipo de emociones… es verdaderamente increíble e impresionante que ese gran salón como abierto al cielo y oscuro a la vez sean de el, de Gaudi… es pena no poder recorrer todos los rincones de esas mansiones…

How many floors are there? Are there many steps to climb or is there an elevator?

There are about 5 floors including the lowest area which was for carriages when the house was first built. Yes, there is an elevator in the mansion. Seeing this home is a "must do" when visiting Barcelona!

I didn't measure but I went through a regular door way within a 3 metre parabolic entrance.

Were you able to buy tickets onsite to see Palau Guell or purchase them from their website in advance? Do you have to do the guided tour, or can a basic ticket be purchased just to have a look around?
