It's easy to forget to explore the town of Como when at the Lake but it is well worth a visit to the Duomo. Even if not going inside the outside is beautiful.

Var bare utenfor her, men for et syn. Dominerer sentrum, anbefaler og ta en kaffe på en av mange cafeer utenfor og nyte synet av arkitekturen.

Preciosa catedral renacentista en el centro de esta portentosa ciudad del norte, menos conocida pero que merece una visita desde Milán o directamente quedarse allí y disfrutar de su lago y de su entorno con los Alpes de fondo.

Es un monumento que te puedes pegar un dia entero y no te cansaría.
Mejor subir primero a la galería y luego de bajada, entrar al interior de la catedral.
Lo que no recomiendo es la cueva que está junto a la salida, eso fue decepcionante.
El museo, también hay que verlo, aunque después de ver la catedral, la tendencia is ir rápido

Very informative display with the complete history of the building and life of the diocese. I visited twice as there was so much to take in. The building is stunning and well kept. If you follow the display showing the display, there are four long display boards and the last two could be missed as they are on the other side of the aisle at the West end. It is worth taking the time to read it all. You are then directed along a route around the building which enables you to see everything.

Ho visitato questa Cattedrale per la primissima volta ad ottobre. Sono rimasta incantata e scioccata dalla bellezza e dalla luce che radiavano quel dì... sembrava un'opera celestiale. Artistica, in tutto e per tutto.

Il duomo di Como è un edificio iniziato nel 1396 e terminato nel 1740. Esso presenta diversi stili ed è abbellito da decorazioni, sculture, guglie e pinnacoli. L'interno, in stile gotico, è diviso in tre navate e conserva opere di pregio tra cui tele, pale, arazzi, sarcofagi e sculture. L'ingresso dei turisti è gratuito, ma viene comunque richiesta una contribuzione libera. L'interno è davvero bello e vale la pena visitarlo.

Per gli amanti della storia dell'arte in generale, ma in particolare, in questo caso, dell'Italia del Nord si tratta di un vero e proprio gioiello. Non la visito per la prima volta, ma dalla mia infanzia, comunque sono sempre meravigliato e gaio. Juvarra ed arazzi sono il suo maggiore decoro. Peccato che nel Medioevo "il suo spazio vitale" è stato ridotto a causa dell'ampliamento urbano, nonostante il suo potere spirituale arrivasse fino al Canton Ticino.

The Duomo is the biggest church of Como. It is an impressive building. For every Como visitor, a must see. It is necessary to go inside. The interior is beautiful.

I didn't see any sign explicitly stating that dogs are not allowed, but I don't think so - dogs are not allowed in any catholic church.
