eine absolut lohnende Ausstellung. Perfekt kuratiert mit ganz viel zusätzlichen Informationen. Muss man gesehen haben und man sollte auch ausreichend Zeit mitbringen.

La mostra "Matisse, Derain e i loro amici" è da punteggio massimo, tanto ci è piaciuta. Diamo invece e solamente un uno su cinque perché le spiegazioni sulle pareti sono unicamente in tedesco e inglese - almeno anche il francese, no? -, i numeri per l'audioguida sono in caratteri piccoli così come le didascalie dei quadri. L'audioguida, poi, ha contenuti ai minimi termini, per quantità e varietà. Comunque, il francese è stato inserito a fianco del tedesco e dell'inglese, nell'audioguida, almeno questo... Sì, mostra bellissima questa al Kunstmuseum di Basilea, ma insufficiente per il numero di lingue a disposizione dei visitatori. Ps: il tedesco, per mia fortuna, lo conosco e parlo bene, ma altri visitatori?

This is one of the best art museums I have visited with a collection that ranges from Picasso to Klee to Holbein to Dali to Rodin. And despite all of these great works, the museum is very manageable to see in one day.

Very avant-garde experience that I would recommend to all new comers to Basel. It is definitely worth it.

Premettiamo che il giudizio è su organizzazione e su una postilla che per me è inspiegabile, ridicola, idiota!
Il museo è su più piani e espone prevalentemente dipinti ma anche alcune statue (Rodin e Picasso). Opere pittoriche tra le più disparate da Picasso a Braque, da Ernst a Dalì, Chagall e addirittura un DeChirico. Ma a che il reparto 15-19 secolo non è niente male, con un autoritratto di VanGogh. E qui viene la cosa indecente, a mio avviso: arrivo lì davanti a uno dei suoi quadri, un autoritratto, e mentre facevo una foto, mi viene fatto notare che sul "cartellino del nome" c'è un simbolo con macchinetta fotografica sbarrata. Vietato fare foto a un singolo quadro?! Ma siamo pazzi??? E il motivo quale sarebbe??? Scherziamo?
Avrei capito, si fa per dire, se le foto fossero state vietate in tutto il museo. Ma a un singolo quadro, che senso ha?
Inoltre, il museo è un poco complesso come stanze da visitare e non presenta un minimo percorso da seguire. Forse sarebbe da mettere a terra, o comunque sarebbe da segnare.
Prezzo 16 franchi. Visita di 2 ore e mezza almeno.
Ripeto, il museo è bellissimo ma non accetto il divieto di fare una foto a un quadro! È stupido!

We came here and used our 1/2 price offer from the hotel and so pleased we did. The collection is fantastic with many different areas to explore. We mainly did the 15th 16th century artists on level 1 and 2 and it took 2 hours. The museum has a lovely courtyard outside where you can sit and eat something. Very well sign posted. it cost us 16CHF for the w of us. We walked here. Highly recommend doing.

This is a huge museum with some very beautiful paintings- Holbein,Munch, Cézanne, Van Gogh and more. But you have to search them out as there are a lot of paintings by lesser known artists who appeal less. The Museum is curiously ‘cold’ in terms of atmosphere but still well worth a visit .

Kuntsmuseum Basel (on St. Albans) which has a large collection of 20th-century art. Spent about 2 1/2 hours there. Went to a special exhibit of 40 paintings from the Kiev Museum; the museum worlds have banded together to remove artworks from Kiev and not only save them but exhibit in their museums in order to show the world that Ukraine exists and is a separate entity from Russia. There was also a special exhibit by an artist named Bernard Buffet which was educational in terms of a self-promoter.
The museum had a lot of works by Swiss painters as well as Germans and other European painters so it was interesting to see art by artists who I’ve never heard of before but most of it didn’t appeal to me.

13CFH (approx 14€) for the discounted tickets per person with a Basel card that you will get at the Hotel. You must wear a sticker to show you have paid, i suggest you retain your receipt in case the sticker falls off. You can transfer between the old and new building without going outdoors. Huge museum, so much to see,we preferred the modern art in the new building. Plenty of toilets available and a restaurant. You can't take large bags in with you but there are lockers and cloak rooms available. You also can't carry in a bottle of water.

Catch the #50 bus (Bahnhof SBB) at the airport. Ride 7 stops (about 15 minutes) and get off at the Basel SBB. There you will catch the #2 tram (Basel, Eglisee) and get off on the 3rd stop (Platform F, Kunstmuseum). The walk from there to the Museum is less than 1 minute.

Z całą pewnością jest. Życzę Ci żeby nie był akurat gdzieś wypożyczony. Niestety zdarzyło mi się tak z innym obrazem w Rijksmuseum / It is certainly. I wish you that he was not just rented out. Unfortunately, it happened to me with a different painting at the Rijksmuseum

Hi there! There is an entrance fee until 4 PM, one hour before closing. There are museum brochures you can keep as well as explanatory sheets in most rooms you may borrow in English. I am sure you will enjoy one the top art mueums in the world! Cheers, James

Want to stress it: the museum is not free even if you have Swill Rail Pass. This is one of few museums in Switzerland that are not included in the list of free museums with Swiss Rail Pass

If you are planning to visit Basel, give yourself enough time to thoroughly enjoy the main building. Depending on when you plan to be in Basel, my suggestion would be to visit the museum websites which you would like to visit. Which every museum you plan on taking in, Click the language key.p abs check the other exhibitions being offered. It is amazing how many exhibitions travel in this museum filled city. Another suggestion, to save you some time, if you go to the information desk and ask where the particular artist's works are located.
