Mostly fish, vegetables, cheese and fruit. Pretty large market. Fair prices. Easy to find as it is in the middle of the city.
Not much more to say really. No entry free or anything. Taste some cheese before buying.

Ein wirklich großer Markt mit einer tollen Atmosphäre. Es gibt eine wahnsinnig große Auswahl an frischem Fisch, Käse, Fleisch, Wurst, Obst, Gemüse, Backwaren und weitere Marktständen für alles mögliche.
Alle Verkäufer den Ständen sind einfach nur nett und bieten einen sehr guten Service, sowie tolle Gespräche.
Der Besuch ist ein Muss in Groningen.

I was in Groningen for two days and walked by the Vismarkt many times. Every time I visited, there were food vendors here selling a variety of tasty treats and dishes. I went one afternoon and there was a large market going on with a lot of seafood options and traditional Dutch dishes. They do a pretty good job cleaning up the market though out the day. The views of the churches and traditional buildings are amazing alone.

This market is definitely worth the visit just to have a nosy around. If you are staying in a Airbnb or renting a house or barge this is the place to get fresh food. From one stall to the next fantastic fresh food. On one stall You can buy fresh fish like cod or scallops and they will batter it and fry it there and then for fish and chips. So you can't moan about it not being fresh. It's not that expensive either
If I was renting I would definitely shop here for fresh food and Jumbo stores for everything else. Avoid Alfred stores to expensive

Make sure your visit to Groningen coincides with one of the Market days! A visit to the city centre isn't complete otherwise. Here you can experience a bit of the real Dutch culture, talk with many of the truly lovely Dutch people, and sample lots of amazing cheeses 🧀 I ate a type of monster sized scampi I have never seen before. Delicious 😋 oh and the coffee was incredibly good. Went back for another cup😍

Sehr schöner Markt.......kann man weiterempfehlen zum bummeln genauso wie den Grote Markt.

Il mercato che si tiene in questa bellissima piazza nel centro storico di Groningen è un’attrazione ben nota in tutta la regione. È un’occasione eccellente per esplorare e assaggiare i diversi sapori di tanti prodotti locali, dai formaggi alla frittura, dal pane fresco alle verdure appena colte, dai salumi alle noci e alla cioccolata. La piazza è circondata da esempi di splendida architettura locale: l’Aa-kerk, la facciata neoclassica del Korenbeurs e in lontananza la cima della Martinitoren, la torre più alta del centro storico.

Ich bin erstaunt gewesen über die wirklich angenehmen Preise. 2 Avocados für 1 Euro?? Wow. Alles sah super frisch aus und dazu wirklich gute Preise

Dit is een MUST DO in Groningen. Veel leuke winkels, markt en qua architectuur ook mooi. Het plein ligt bovendien heel centraal in het oude centrum van de stad, dat überhaupt "de moeite" van een bezoek meer dan waard is.
