Built in 1847, Europe's oldest still-operating shopping mall served as the glass-covered model that inspired many other shopping galleries in Paris, London etc. This is a place where the first Belgian motion picture was screened. Originally, you had to pay to get in to see its fancy shops, but not now, don't worry not anymore - it is free to entrance.
In this shopping mall, there's no Gap or Foot Locker instead, you'll find hat, can, gloves, umbrella stores - generally handmade on the premises. Why is my 4 stars? Paying tribute to the history and architecture of the building, in such galleries I usually find it boring, many shops are closed despite the announced opening hours, everything is somehow stiff and does not look like a lively environment.

This historic shopping arcade is worth visiting just to admire the architecture. Of course, it also has great shops and cafes if that’s more your thing!

Trata-se de uma galeria com muitas loja e restaurantes. Na temporada turística o fluxo de pessoas é grande. Mas, vale a pena incluir no city tour.

Ce lieu est magnifique. En dépit de sa fréquentation nous avons trouvé qu'il n'était pas trop bruyant. Nous recommandons de s'y arrêter afin d'y consommer un café, une bière ou une tartine.

A wonderful arcade to look at and an absolute delight to shop in.There are mostly coffee shops , clothing , shoe shops and chocolate shops ,also has a cinema this quaint shopping gallery just of Grand place

Un posto adorabile pieno di negozi carinissimi che ci trasportano in un'atmosfera romantica senza tempo. Di notte è magico ma purtroppo sono aperte solo le cioccolaterie.....che comunque sono bellissime.

Tout est magnifique, l'architecture, la lumière, les bâtiments, les boutiques... un espace splendide.

I don't believe so but cannot be 100% sure, there was some clothes and shoes shops but I don't remember seeing Birkenstocks
