Leuk interactief museum. Veel te doen (ook als je volwassen bent). Voor kinderen een ontdekkingsreis. De voertuigen zijn fantastisch.

It has turned into a learning center mainly for children and school classes. The museum has distanced themselves from the adult audience to entertain children. Find it overpriced (150 nok) for the value. Used about an hour to walk through.

Var sammen med barnebarna i noen timer på museet og det ble en herlig opplevelse for barna. Museet er jo ganske stort og har mange opplevelse for de små. Meget god tur og barna ble veldig glade. Litt kjedelig at museum er så langt unna Oslo sentrum. Håper de flyttet museum nær sentrum i fremtiden.

12000 m2 d’expositions sur les sujets importants: médecine, électricité, force hydraulique, extraction du pétrole. Les explications sont concises et claires et on peut toucher à tout. Un grand espace est réservé aux enfants pour expérimenter la gravité, le vent etc.. compter une journée pour en profiter. Restaurant sur place et on entre et sort du musée sans soucis.

Un museo de ciencia y tecnología muy interesante y entretenido. Es muy grande y lleva tiempo conocerlo bien. Es ideal para los niños ya que despierta mucho su interés, siendo totalmente interactivo. Así da gusto aprender. Muy recomendable.

Passing an electric arc furnace, used in the production of nitrogen for fertiliser making, in the grounds was a happy harbinger for great displays to come.
Commendably real world exhibits are the mainstay. Early on, a fabulous water wheel shows the important of hydro power to early industry.
From the mid 1800s onwards a more prosperous middle class enjoyed increasing leisure time and entertainment. An important component was the invention and spread of phonographs and gramophones. A grand Edison with wax cylinder is one of the gems.
Timber and all its aspects were important industries. Industrial sized saw and paper mill elements are impressive.
A fine collection is in the transport rooms. Grand vintage and veteran cars from the earliest days are proudly displayed. A gleaming steam engine and electric tram are marvellous.
Long before the smartphone, bell telephones with handset were at the forefront of enabling chats across vast distances. Grand examples as well as a telephone exchange are here.

One of the most interesting museums in Oslo. Large, you can easily spend 3-4 hours here. I especially liked the exhibition dedicated to transport, which is one of the largest and best made. There are cars from different eras, planes of different sizes, motorcycles, locomotives. Also, the small watches exhibit is interesting.
The museum has a small restaurant and souvenir shop. Unfortunately, it is far from the central area, but it worth the effort.

Barnebarnet (5 år) og jeg var innom her når vi var i Oslo. Fantastisk plass for barn og voksne. Vi måtte gi oss etter 3 timer da vi skulle videre, kunne ha vært der lenger. Hyggelige ansatte.

We came here on a day off to take it easy and spend some good time together as a couple.
Even many things are made for learning and children. As a grown up can enjoy the museum. There are cool vehicles and exhibitions which is explaining things in detail. Also test things out. Things are naturally closed because of the pandemic. Still lots of things to see.
This place you can easily spend about 2 hours and not think about it. The staff is very attentive and one even turned one thing on because we were studying it for a long time. As it wasn't supposed to work or be on at this time. That was awesome.
Can recommend this museum.

This has turned into more of a playground for kids than a real museum. I saw a total of one computer and one cellphone... It's mostly about oil, medicine and early electricity (but not nearly enough of electric appliances), and they have a floor for vehicles, which I enjoyed, that felt like a real museum, what they have on display on that floor is quite awesome. But I'm very disappointed that there was nothing about communication, and only a few radios hanging in a display I didn't really understand the point of. Everyday life has been ignored except for a corner downstairs, displaying three kitchens.
