Archäologische Stätte Kourion ist echt sehenswert! Das antike Stadtkönigtum wurde schon vor dem 5 Jahrhundert v. Chr. gegründet.

Great ruins

Huge archaeological site with many interesting mosaics and a well preserved ancient theatre, give yourself lots of time to explore.

Great Amphitheatre

This archaeological site is worth a look if only for the 2BC amphitheatre. There is a lot more but like most of these sites only if you have an interest in ruins. There are some standing columns though.

Bellissimo sito archeologico! Consiglio di andarci presto la mattina per evitare il caldo infernale dell’ora di pranzo! Molto suggestivo e con una vista pazzesca! L’ingresso costa 4,50€ e ci vogliono circa un paio d’ore per girarlo tutto!

Few hours history in very nice surrounding

This was the last archaeological site we visited on the island after Paphos and Salamis (on Turkish side) and we were amazed. The infrastructure is outstanding. As far as I can evaluate the whole site can be explored even with wheelchair. They are establishing shades along the path which can be very useful in summertime. We were there at the beginning of the season (end of May), doing touristic stuff mainly before noon so the sun was not that harmful as during the summer (I guess) but still quite strong. View is beautiful and relaxing. Driving by you would not guess what you can see there. Well worth to visit. We spent there an hour to explore but skipped the earhquake house as it was a bit further down and we were super tired. But sitting down on the stone bench in the top row of the theater.. the view... priceless.

Amazed at what we found

We visited as a way of using our last day before returning to the airport to fly home. We were astonished at the extent of the artefacts and the size of the site. Really interesting with coastal views to die for. There is no shade on a hot day so be warned.

Quick Outing. Well worth it.

Wasn't sure what to expect from our visit here, but really worth it. I'd highly recommend visiting. Payment on entrance is easy, cheap and can use card. The facilities are good and the paths all decent. The ruins will blow you away. Make sure you walk over to the public baths.

You need coins to buy water from machine and we got bitten whilst visiting so remember bug sprey.

Well worth a visit

I have to confess we were confused at first because Google maps took as to Kourion beach and announced we had reached our destination so we had a coffee and looked around then spotted something up on the hill and decided to back track along the road where we had passed a coach earlier. This time we found the proper site and we were glad we did.
Most of what can be seen dates from Roman times though the site has been inhabited since 5500BC. I expect most will find the theatre and baths as expected but I thought the mosaic floors were the best part; however, I don't think my pictures do it justice there are far better already posted!

We visited thinking there was just an old amphitheater but was amazed what else is there, Roman village remains etc, very impressive

This was a superb visit, to do it justice take refreshments with you (there are drinks machines) and make a day of it.
There is a bookshop at the centre, guide maps and even a guided tour on a ‘train’. It is wheelchair accessible for much of the site but accessing the amphitheater, theatre and Roman agora would be problematic.
Added bonus, it’s half price entry for pensioners.
Lovely mosaics in the bath house.
