I received this experience as a gift for Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. As it was February, it was chilly and rather wet, however that did not deter us, and another family group that was present. The staff were helpful and friendly, with great encouragement as we went round the course. The safety harnesses were more comfortable than the usual harnesses for activities such as climbing, allowing for easy movement with no squashing of the more delicate areas.
For all there was heavy rain during our session, the course was not slippy, and there were very good holds for both hands and feet. No one in either group fell off the course while we were there. There is a combination of obstacles and zip-lines as you gradually ascend into the trees. I struggle with vertigo, however I had no issues until the very end where there was a short wait for the person ahead of me to complete the final jump. The person ahead of me had a little panic at the idea of jumping off the final platform which was understandable due to the height. The member of staff was lovely with her and gave her the push she needed. If anyone planning on doing the course is nervous about the height, I advise just to go for it. The longer you wait debating pushing on, the worse you make it for yourself. The jump is a controlled descend, with someone to catch you at the end. The girl that had the panic loved it in the end, she had just built it up in her head.
Overall it was a grand morning out, followed by a cracking cup of tea in the Stables cafe.
I should also add that there will only be a handful of people on the course at anytime as the sessions run every couple of hours with about 10 people.

Visited as a group of 14; 9 of which were children. Started session at 12 & initially, though the staff were dreadful as they didn’t seem to care if anyone was struggling on the way round. Yes it was freezing & the rain was pouring the whole time but I did think they could have put a little bit more effort in. However, toward the end, staff seemed a lot more helpful & one in particular helped one of our younger girls round the course personally, giving her one to one help & encouragement which meant she came home thrilled with herself. I would visit again.

Took our two 15 year old boys during our recent trip north. Didn't expect such an amazing ropes course, as it was very low priced compared to other treetop ropes courses the boys have enjoyed in other places. The staff were very knowledgeable & friendly & since it was quiet, they allowed the boys to go around the course twice, which we thought was really exceptional. The boys absolutely loved it & we all agreed we would highly recommend it to anyone travelling around the Beamish area.

Took my 13 year old daughter and her friend for a birthday treat. We all absolutely loved the afternoon there. Enjoyed all the course especially the zip wires and the drop at the end. The staff were very friendly and ensured we were very safe, informed, there for support but most of all that we had the best experience. Would definitely recommend this for family day out. Thanks so much Go Wild team.

These 10 year olds were so brave, they both throughly enjoyed their experience high up in the trees and can’t wait to do it all again soon. Staff are very friendly and approachable, always close by to reassure and help with any slight hiccups along the course. Would definitely recommend to others 😃 great afternoon had by all.

I've been on high rope courses before but this was the best. The instruction was good, and the encouragement for my two nervous children was first rate. The course itself is long enough to make it good value for money (cos it ain't cheap).
By the end of the activity, we all agreed that it was brilliant, a perfect mix of fun, scariness and agility. I would definitely go again.

Staff lovely and there to help if you need them. I am afraid of heights so pushed myself to do this but it was amazing myself and my 12yr old thought it was fab.

Excellent course and even better staff! The whole team were very helpful, knowledgeable and on hand all the time.
My kids had a brilliant time and want to go back again soon, we arrived without booking and the lovely guy squeezed us in too. Nice areas to eat and have a picnic or play there too. Very professional, see you all soon

We visited on 6/8/19, the heavens opened, it stotted down, but we had a brilliant time! 6 aged between 15 and 21yrs and a 52 yr old! the youngsters loved it, and loved the freefall at the end. Such a challenge for oldie and brilliant sense of achievement, go for it! The instructors were friendly and helpful and a good laugh, they made our time there really enjoyable, which added to the experience, would def do again.

Is there anywhere to leave bags etc whilst doing high ropes. Thank you

You park your car quite near to the ropes. There is a wooden staff hut too, not sure if you’d be able to leave them in there. I didn’t do the ropes myself so sat on the picnic benches with our spare coats etc.

Do you need a paying adult with a child (11yr old), or can the child complete the course on their own?

There were youngsters who participated but they had to be 10yrs. Some parents participated with their child/ren but there were others who watched.

Would it be suitable for a 4 1/2 year old? Or am I better waiting until he is older?

I would say he or she is too young for the ropes

I am meeting my sister at beamish wild and wondered where and how much parking will be. We will be on the treetop stuff which the website says rakes 2 hours

How you would rate this on level of difficulty, and fear (in relation to heights)? I'm a 39 year old, who is of average-low fitness level, and is a bit of a wimp when it comes to danger (I appreciate this is safe, but my head will tell me different) and heights :-)

I agree with pretty much what everyone else has written here. My daughter and her cousin, both 10, did it and loved it - no fear, just fun. My wife and I were there to watch.
The instructors were great with them and the party were a mix of ages, fitness and ability from our two up to a 65 year old gent who'd had a heart operation 12 months before. Everyone made it round the course and had a great time.
My wife didn't have a go but would love to and we may go back. She saw how safe the kids were and how well they were harnessed in and she said that would make her feel safe. I, on the other hand, am afraid of heights - make me feel sick at the thought of it - and watching them on the course just confirmed to me that i will never be doing it!!! But that's just me!
I would say go for it - you may have some misgivings at first but you'll enjoy it once you start. It'll be fun and you'll get a sense of achievement from it.
