Although we were in Ludwigsburg for the Christmas Markets, we took the opportunity to visit the Palace. The tour was very informative and lasted a bit over an hour. The tour was in English. To get to the Palace from the train station, you walk up through the town, through a shopping mall, and across the main square. A nice town.

My wife and I had out of town guests visiting from the states and from Frankfurt. We decided to take them to this amazing castle residence and the annual pumpkin festival. They took the tour of the inside, which does not allow photos. We waited for them on the outside where we loved the creativity of the artist Pit Ruge. This year's theme was girl power so the exhibits featured powerful woman from history along with fictional characters from today. The festival also has vendors like Jucker Farm selling a variety of pumpkin items like spaghetti sauce and jellies. This place also hosts some vendors selling food. We always enjoy the pumpkin Maultaschen soup and kurbis Prosecco. All in all, this is a perfect place to take families of all ages, even older folks like us. Oh...and you can buy pumpkins and other gourds here too!

AS ALL THINGS IN GERMANY DURABLE FOR ME THE GREEK A BEAUTIFUL PALACE that the Germans used the most. The ticket is a bit salty 16€. But the experience and the images are green. The smells from the flowers are unique. We spent two hours unique.

On Instagram I had seen a video with the pumpkin exhibition and therefore visited it closed.
It was super nice 🤩
Everything perfect for children and families
The fairytale town was a great surprise
The weather also helped that day stays so beautiful in our memory.
I recommend in summer but now in October was also great!

The tour of the castle with the chambermaid was a unique experience. Our group was thrilled! We have not experienced such an entertaining and entertaining tour. The facial expressions, rhetoric of the "chambermaid" are great, but also the historical knowledge is top. Highly recommended.
The pumpkin exhibition was also worth seeing again. It's great to see a different motto every year.

A nice castle, but overall the experience with a baby and stroller was very unsatisfactory.
Strollers are not actually allowed and may only be reluctantly taken.
Accessibility exists in theory, but is not liked in practice.

Construction began in 1704 as a hunting villa for Prince Eberhard Directions. In 1718, the castle was upgraded to a residential castle, and an extension began. Completed in 1733. With 18 buildings and 452 rooms, it is the largest surviving Baroque palace in Germany.
Guided tours are the only way to see the inside. Filming is prohibited. The interior is very luxurious and combines Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism.

Arrived in Ludwigsburg from Stuttgart by train. Outside the stations bus 427 or 421 leaves you in front of the entrance with flags.
We arrived before the opening we struggled to find the entrance to pay for the ticket because no indication , just a sign in German that looked like an advertisement , while indicating the entrance .
A grey door is located under the arch to your right.
Visit only or in German at 11 am or English at 1 pm.
We chose the visit in German.
The Guide very good while not understanding anything.
The visit lasted about an hour.
With the stuttcard the entrance only to the castle is free, otherwise the cost of the ticket is 8 euros , if you want to visit the gardens another 14 euros per person and the cashier presents them rude unwilling to give information.
We didn't visit them.
While the employees present at the cash desk of the castle very kind.
We understood that with the castle ticket there is a discount to visit the gardens. But better inquire.

You can visit only the castle (13 rooms out of 452!) and the front gardens for € 11 per person, frankly it deserves, the rooms are really nice. Enter from the right side, where the flags are.
If instead like us you park at the back of the castle, where there is the Ferris wheel, and enter from the gardens, the cashier should explain that in the 14 euros per person you pay is not included access to the castle, to enter you need another 8 euros per person! The gardens are not worth the price!
Not honorable mention also to the German Guide who understood and spoke perfect Italian but was careful not to say even a single word to involve the two groups of Italians present at his tour, so much so that a father and a child were forced to go out. Congratulations, really good Guide!

Unfortunately we arrived late to visit the huge residence inside, which was now closed.
We visited the whole huge park although 14 euros is a lot and the whole residence outside with the two gardens, plus the small zoo with animals inside the park with storks and flamingos and the huge tower.
Park and gardens with well-kept fountains, presence of toilets, a cafeteria at the bottom of the park, benches but no fountains for drinking water.
There is also a children's ride and the rapunzel tower from the fairy tale of the same name to explore with children. There is also a maze for children with characters from fairy tales.
At the fountains there are various types of ducks.
The residence is huge, one of the largest Baroque residences in Europe built on the example of Versailles and with the architectural style of the Vienna Palace.
Having seen both Versailles and Vienna, we were really amazed at the size of Ludwigsburg Castle, 4 wings.

Hi.
I would like to go and visit this palace, as I've recently found out one of my relatives is Johann Georg Hopfengartner. I've read his portrait hangs in the Baroque Gallery. Is it open to the public or permanently closed?

Can I walk the gardens for free? If not, are there separate tickets for the palace and the gardens? I'd like to visit the gardens, go to lunch and then come back and take the residence tour. Thanks
Đã viết vào 9 tháng 8, 2019
No, the gardens are not for free, and yes there are separate tickets and separate ticket shops. Entering the building the first shop you would find will be the residence tour’s, on your right. For the garden ticket shop you must continue straight. I think that the way you want do the tour is the best one, first the garden and then the residence. But the residence tour is a guided visit at different times so before going to lunch inform abut it. Some visits in english, some in german. Another thing to keep in mind. The visit to the residence is divided in two parts, the residence tour and the ceramic museum. Because of that you can buy a ticket for all, or only a ticket for the museum. I hope you enjoy, good luck

We are planning a visit mid Jan and have as much time needed for tours and museums. My questions
1) Do you do full palace tours in English ?
2) Do all english tours leave at 1515 or is there a 2nd tour at 1315?
3) Can you explore the museums at your own time?
Regards
Đã viết vào 21 tháng 7, 2019
1) Yes, all English
2) I do not recall the time(s)
3) Yes, since we had to wait a bit for our tour to start we explored on our own beforehand in certain - designated areas only. Got some great pics this way.

How much is it for adult admission
Đã viết vào 22 tháng 6, 2019
9 € for the Gardens and the little Theme Park "Märchengarten". I've you want a castle visit + the gardens than 20€ for adults.
Greetings from Ludwigsburg ❤️

Can I buy the Baroque Experience at the door? Does it sell out?

Just make sure you get clear directions from the staff on where the tour starts.

Are dogs allowed in the public gardens? A friend just moved to Stuttgart and is in temporary housing & has no place to leave their furry friend.

Hi. I'm a little confused about the Palace visiting hours and the 3:15 tour in English. The website says the Palace is open from 10:00 to 3:00. If that is the case, does the 3:15 tour in English not include inside the Palace? Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We visited last November. We had a Stuttgart Card and we got to see all areas plus had the 3.15 tour. Not sure if timings have changed. Best check with the place directly.
