We went with a local USA travel agent and bought our tickets ahead of our trip to Germany. We thought it best to get tickets from a "verified source". Our local travel agent normally only plans those long, multi-destination river cruises (like Viking, etc) so they were not as familiar with the hop-on-hop-off day cruise like the one we desired. So, they went to an online booking agent called "Bedsonline". They combined both our accommodations in Koblenz as well as the day cruise. When we arrived, the hotel was really low-end. We are not hotel snobs, but this place was really bad. Also, the cruise line did not accept our pre-ordered/pre-paid boarding ticket. We had to scramble last minute at the "KD Cruise" ticket counter at the dock to buy the right ticket just before the boat set sail. There were 2 other couples there with the same problem. We paid the same price (again), and had a wonderful cruise, but the lesson for you is... Just get to the dock in person, even the day before, pay at the ticket booth (in Koblenz as well as in Mainz), and don't rely on any of the online dealers.
Thankfully, our travel agent reimbursed us when we returned, since we kept our receipt for the "in-person" purchase of the ticket... another lesson for you - save your receipts.

Lovely calm five hour cruise, with attentive crew and comfortable seating. An ideal way to view the many medieval castles and their adjoining villages along the river bank. A very enjoyable day out.

The trip June 16 -25, 2022 was excellent however we tested positive for COVID arriving at home probably due to the relaxation of COVID testing and mask wearing by the guests. Be aware!

My wife and I took this tour which was a bit more expensive than we thought. However, we learned that it included free drinks for 2 hours. Now we understood.
It was about 2 hours and it was a leisurely way to enjoy the Rhine river.

Großartig!! This day river cruise was very enjoyable and price worthy. The Bord-Restaurant offers a very nice variety of Food & Drink to help the ambiance; Good quality, however, a bit pricey; but, normal for an entertainment venue. Will definitely go again to bring other friends and family members to experience!

We took a Rhine river cruise and city tour combo with ETS Travel, booked through Expedia. City tour was a joke, one person took us out to the street and asked, do you see that blue double decker? Go and come back after the city tour. This was a hop on and off bus tour.
After an hour of of going through the city we came back and were told to wait for the Rhine river cruise, around 11:15 Michael our guide and driver directed us to the bus. Michael was excellent guide and driver, lunch was ok nothing exciting, and was without drinks, you have to pay for even water. Cruise was for about 90 minutes, after that wine testing stop and about 20 minutes for shopping. Over all your was good and informative, excellent information, beautiful scenery and historical castles and churches.

It was a fantastic couple of hours on the Rhine River seeing Castles and Vineyards. You have the option of getting off an any of the towns and sight see and catch the next boat.

The boat leaves every hour. There is a lot of castles, towers, palaces, ruins you get to see from the boat. The first deck is like a restaurant but you don’t have to eat. The top deck has some seating. It was raining and cold so we mostly stayed on the first deck. They have bathrooms in the lower deck. The tickets we purchased were 20.80 Euro to go from Bingen am Rhein to Sankt Goar an der Loreley

We took an eight-day Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel in early Sept.
The sceneries along the river bank are very beautiful especially when the boat entering Mannheim of Germany.
The on shore excursions are pretty good too and easy to access.

Helped by lovely weather, a river cruise up the Rhine is a great way to spend a week. The Rhine Gorge and the surrounding hill tops resplendent with castles and beautiful churches was a highlight. But visiting the towns along the way was also a treat. Special mention to the sky lift at Boppard and cable car at Rudesheim. If you want to see the Rhine in all its glory, then take the trips.

If I book the KD Day cruise from Rudesheim to St. Goar & back to Rudesheim can I get off in St Goar and return on a leter ship or do I have to stay on the same boat for the return?

We only took the Rhine cruise for a 2-hour cruise but saw plenty of castles from the ship. We docked only at end on our trip. I cannot give any info about the Moselle cruise. As far as we are concerned, we liked the castle views, but would not have felt the need to go on a similar cruise.

Greenline City Tours in Frankfurt, close to Frankfurt Central Station offers this tour in November once the weather permits. We did the tour in November 2016 with them and it was great

Looking for a day river cruise in late November on the middle Rhine. Except for this one mention, I have found none. We are taking four grandchildren from Amsterdam to Rome and are looking for a special experience besides multiple train rides from place to place. Thanks hugely!

Rent a car and drive to see all the castles along the river it is amazing.
