We visited this park on the last month before closing for recovey during rainy season, it’s less crowded on peak season(winter time/october to January) . It’s very convenient to clomb up this nation park campground on altitude of1288 meters above mean sea level. On the whole path of 3.55 km to mountain top (“Lang Pae pos.” , there rest stops where hikers can stop for refreshments, sitting on shacks, nothing to bring with , you can buy food, drinks upthere with reasonable price. It takes 3-5 hours to hike up to mountaintop , you can enjoy different flora and fauna according to altitutde . The flora on monutaintop are mainly pine trees. It’s cool uothere , even on the midday sunlight. From mountaintop to campgroung( Wang Kwang) , it’s flat path about 4 km to reach there. At the visitor center, you can choose your lodge by booking the houses in advance by online or renting tent and mattresses/ blankets . Tgere are restaurants and shops selling everything you need to use upthere. It is recommended to stay atleast 2nights for exloring all sites upthere including going up and down. It’s prohibited to walk into the jungle area during dry season in the late afternoon , because of roaming while elephants in the area of waterfalls. It’s very convenient to stay comfortable there with showering facilities, electricity, and even rented bicycles to see around.

This was a unique and fun experience unlike any other I’ve had in Thailand. The hike is a grind but was fairly easy (I’m an experienced backcountry hiker). It took my wife and I 4 hours to get to the campsite (I think I could have done it in 3 hours if hiking solo). The first 7km involved a 1200m ascent and the last 3km was flat.
We rented a tent (3 person sized), sleeping pads, sleeping bags, pillows and a blanket. We hiked up on a Thursday so the campsite was fairly slow. We were the only people in our section which was nice. It got considerably busier on Friday.
Make no mistake; this is glamping. There are restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, flushing toilets and showers at the campsite. You can even charge your phone at many of the restaurants (there is full cell service).
The second day we rented bikes and explored the plateau. The waterfalls were all closed off due to wild elephants. We were fortunate to see a wild elephant, a true highlight of the trip.
The hike down took 3 hours. We hiked down on a Saturday so there was a steady stream of people hiking up. If I do this again I would time it to avoid Friday-Sunday.
Overall this experience offers a great workout, beautiful views, wildlife and many comforts.

True Friend trip for traveling up Phu Kradueng on the Nong Phakbung side. nature trail This line must have an officer leading the way. Because it is a new route And there were a lot of elephant brothers walking. It was fun, beautiful, and very tiring. Impressed along the way It is recommended that if you reserve the national park accommodation in time, it will be very good. The park turns off the lights at 10 p.m. There should be lighting equipment.

Nice place to hiking and adventure ♥️ Long trails and existing ☺️ You should visit one time in your life. Camping place is so good, but no hot water. Good is a bit expensive, because they carry everything up to hill. It reasonable!

For Phu Kradueng This trip is a trip that I go in the winter, the weather is very cold when I walk up to the top of the mountain. I would like to recommend my friends that they get physically fit before coming. In the morning there will be a very beautiful fog and the weather is so cold that I don't want to put my hands in the water at all.

I've heard of this place for multiple years but only finally had the chance to visit the national park. Due to covid, the number is capped at 1,000 people, instead of the usual 5,000 per day.
Reservations for the tent can either be made online or on the spot, and you will not need to carry any of the camping gear up as they are all up at the summit. And you can hire porters to carry the rest of your gear up for 30 baht/kilo.
The trek up can be challenging, the key is to make sure you have proper footwear as the terrain can be muddy and steep especially at the start and end. I am an average 27 year old and it too me slightly more than 3 hours to summit. Others would take much longer, but there are multiple stalls that sell food and drinks along the way.
Once you hit the top you will have to walk another 3 km to reach the main campsite, equiped with toilets and restaurants.
The optimal amount is 2 nights - first is to hang around around the shorter attractions and the second is to visit the further ones such as Pha Lomsak and the waterfalls.
If you want to save time, the best option is to rent a bike, although the path to the cliffs can be a bit rugged and some mountain biking skills are required.
Strongly recommend this place.

My first visit to Phu Kadueng was very impressive because it started from the first day I went. We started walking up the hill for a very long distance. You have to meet both steep paths, ramps, and stairs to climb up. Very tiring and takes a very long time to travel Along the way there is a restaurant to eat. But the price is quite expensive. When you reach the top, you can see the view down. The atmosphere is great I'm tired and camping The accommodation area has some items that are expensive.

This place is a rip off at 400 baht entry. This is an insult to the generosity of Thai people. Just greedy government institutions with nasty dual pricing pricing foreigners put of areas of national beauty. I'll support local businesses thank you!

One of the most challenging long hike, Phu kradueng is located in Loei province, Thailand. It is such a favorite destination for those who love nature and challenging trekking. It is quite hard to climb that you want to give up but if you take it with the right pace, you will succeed it!
We travelled from Bangkok by the plane (recommend this so you won’t get too tired from long period of transportation). Staying in the city for one night before reaching the park in the early morning is a good idea. The National park fee is 40 THB for Thai and 400 THB for foreigner.
We hire the porter at 30 THB per kg. which is quite cheap comparing to the height they have to carry your stuff up there. The wood stick provided for everyone is a must. You will need it when it goes higher and steeper.
You should visit Phu kradueng during winter as there is lots of slug during rainy season. However, even there was no rain, the route can be slippery and dangerous so make sure that you wear the right shoes. (Even we went in the winter, during hiking I recommend wearing light clothe as you would get sweat for sure. However, at the top was super cold during the night and early evening so prepare some sweater and long pants also.)
The trial was quite easy at the beginning, but it got harder with time. Don’t worry. There are many stops which are called ‘sum’ for you take a rest along the way. Don’t chase other people. Just climb at your own pace and watch your heart rate. Take it slow and steady. Snack during the journey is a must, however, there will be many shops selling food, drink and snack at every stop point. We took about 6 hours to get to the top. The tourists cannot climb up and down after 2 pm.
Once you get to the top, you have the choices either walk to the tent are or rent the bike. The tent costed 225 THB per night per 2-3 people. There are enough bathrooms and toilets and also restaurants where the food is quite expensive but understandable as they have to hire the porter to carry the ingredients up there.
Recommended activities include waterfalls visiting, watching sunset at Mak Dook cliff, observing sunrise at Nok Ann cliff and biking around.
I regret staying only one night at the top. Next time I would stay for about 2-3 days to gradually explore the place. Either going with friends or a person you love, I guarantee that you will be impressed by the untouched nature at Phu Kadueng. Give it a try and you will want to go back, again and again.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience at Phu Kradueng national park. I like to know if I should purchase my return coach ticket from Pha Nok Khao to Bangkok Bus terminal on arrival day at Pha Nok Khao or do I purchase it from Loei Bus terminal?
I was hoping that I could hop on a returning coach from Pha Nok Khao to Bangkok which is also the same drop off point without having to travel 1hr 5mins to Loei bus terminal. What's your recommendation?
Regards
Grace

how long does the climb to Phu Kradeung mountain take?
Đã viết vào 15 tháng 8, 2018
Approx 5 .5 hours from bottom to the top.
There are 8 stops with food drinks tee shirts so also depends on how many and how long your stops are.
Then 3km walk further on flat road to camp site so another hour if walking slow.

Hi, can anyone advice how we can book the porters and bungalows in advance? Are there guides as well, or is this not necessary? We are planning a trip in Dec 2018 for a group of 8 people.
Thanks.
Đã viết vào 25 tháng 2, 2018
You do not need to book the porter in advance. They are readily available. All you need to do is to drop-off the loads intended for the porter at the counter at the gate. The loads will be charged by weight. As for the bungalow, the Phu Kadueng National Park is the only place where you can book your accommodation. The paths throughout the park are well documented and local guide is not needed. Hope the above is helpful for your planning.

Quel bus prendre en partant de khon kaen pour phu kradung?
Est ce que je peux dormir près du parc ou dans le parc avant l’ascension ?si oui, Quel est le prix du logement ?
Merci

Hi
You can take a bus from Khon Kaen to Loei Province at main bus station. Ask the ticket officer for Phu Kradung. You will need to drop at Pha Nok Khao (in thai ผานกเค้า, in case you need this word to show to ticket officer) then make a transfer by local public minibus to the national park.
Recommend to take a late night bus at 2-3am to arrive in the morning.
Bus cost about 100 baht (ensure) to Loei Province and minibus is about 300 baht per car (shared seats for 10 people is about 30 baht)
National park entrance fee is about 40 baht and for tent rental depends on sizing but not expensive.

Hi, i'm planning to go to Phu Kradeung on the 31st, are we able to make bonfires and do some bbq or?
Thanks
Đã viết vào 27 tháng 12, 2017
Hi, I'm afraid that bonfires or bbq are not allowed there. This is for safety :) but so many food store there (Thai food), price is quite high but its good to eat somethings fresh n hot. Anyway, you can bring some food like "ready to eat food or breads" with you.
