Elephant rides, elephant bathing, and other activities are promoted to a large number of tourists under the false impression that these facilities are in the best interests of the animals. Kindly refrain from visiting or contributing to any establishment that supports animal abuse.

I am a taxi driver today, taking 2 customers. The customer said they didn't have a reservation. The customer will pay cash at the store. When I took the customer to buy, there was a female employee who was a bit older, promised, not very tall, and was selling brochures. The price for 2 heads was 6,000 baht for the guest. So I went in and asked what about the water bill. He said that the customer had already reserved it online but didn't make a deposit. If this is the case, what kind of water bill will the taxi drivers get because we take them there? I wanted to have the water bill, but I turned and saw that the woman had poked a woman and said something like, "Those two people," and I don't know what happened next. Then when I asked for the water bill, he said there were no customers online, so I did. Asked if they're online, why do they have to come and pay on site? I would like to pass this on to the shop owner as well.

This is how elephants should be seen! The entire experience put the elephants welfare first and foremost. Beautiful location to walk and understand how this amazing sanctuary cares deeply about even the most troubled elephant. All the elephants are rescued from the tourism and logging industries to spend the rest of their days in an environment that benefits their physical and mental well being. Our guide made sure we got to see them close up but never in a way that caused them distress or concern. On one occasion an elephant was approaching her bath but felt a little nervous as we were standing close by, so we were asked to walk back so she felt more comfortable. The price includes an amazing buffet lunch and drinks as well as wellies, umbrellas and rain jackets if it’s raining.

We visited for the third time this year. We cannot wait to return next year to see how the beautiful elephants are doing. The people who run this place are dedicated, caring and really make the place a happy home for these amazing animals to live the rest of their lives. You must visit and you will not be disappointed. See you in 2021!!

For anyone visiting Phuket - if you don't come and see this most wonderful Haven for Elephants, then you would surely be missing out!
It's a place where you feel transported to a Paradise, where both nature and people can live in harmony.
Our helpful, kind and informative Host, Phongsak "Alex" Phalaphol, aka Phuket Elephant Park's Project Manager, shows that he not only thoroughly understands each Elephant's needs, but cares about them on a personal level.
He taught us all about how Elephants should truly be treated and that Positive reinforcement is the best way to show them respect and make them feel happy.
The personal trainers for each of the elephants (Mahouts) clearly have such a personal relationship with the Elephants and It's so beautiful to see.
What they do here is beyond amazing!
I'd go to no other place in Phuket to see Elephants, as at other parks, you are permitted to ride and wash the Elephants - which as you will learn - is not kindness towards these gentle creatures.
I will definitely be visiting this place again next time I visit Phuket and bring as many people as possible so they don't miss out on one of the best experiences you will ever have in life.
These beautiful, magnificent beings deserve respect - you will find no-other place that shows that to them more than Phuket Elephant Park.
This is an experience that will stay in my heart, forever.
Thank you so much!

When travelling to Thailand everyone wants to get up close and personal with elephants quite often without putting the welfare of these incredible animals first. As an animal lover I really wanted to visit the elephants while ensuring that I am making a positive contribution to their wellbeing and that they are in no way used as entertainment for tourists as advertised all over Thailand in 'trekking or bathing' tours. I did some research and came across this small elephant park that takes in old or injured elephants that have been used in the tourism industry or/and for labouring. I am so glad that this is the park I chose to visit. It was a very easy booking system which we booked the day prior and recieved confirmation and all details of pick ups almost instantly. As soon as we arrived at the park we were greeting with welcome snacks/drinks and made to feel so welcome. The tour started with a talk about the history of elephants in thailand and the work that the park do. Phongsak made this talk really interesting and engaging and you could instantly tell he was passionate about the welfare of elephants. After the talk we got to meet the elephants and feed them. I was so pleased at how much time we actually got to spend with the elephants. The team here are so informative and are really invested in caring for their elephants which made me so pleased that I chose this tour. The lunch that was served at the end was absolutely delicious! I bought a tote bag, a tshirt and a necklace and made a donation to the park as it was heartbreaking to hear how these small parks are struggling when there are 'attractions' nearby letting humans ride around on the animals backs. If you want to see elephants while in thailand, please book a tour at this park and know that you are really making a difference and helping elephants!!
I wish this park all the best and will be back again next year. Keep doing what you're doing.

One of the highlights of my trip to Thailand was visiting the rescued elephants at Phuket Elephant Park.
Phuket Elephant Park is an ethical elephant sanctuary, where the herd of rescued elephants is allowed to relax and behave like elephants. They are not forced to do anything they don’t want to do. No performing. No riding. No cruelty. No bathing with visitors (which is best for the safety and comfort of human and elephant) **TIP: You don’t want to bathe in elephant poop/pee water**
I learned about the history of elephants in Thailand and the plight of captive elephants in the logging, circus, and trekking industries. Elephants are intelligent creatures with similar lifespans as humans. The ones I encountered were between ages 47 and 71 and had been engaged in hard work for most of their lives.
Srinuan (pictured with me) is blind in her right eye and was rescued from an elephant camp. It was a pleasure to feed her fruits, pet her trunk, and watch her expertly peel and eat sugar cane. The staff is very knowledgeable and very personable. And, they truly care about the elephants. The way they talk about and interact with the elephants show how much they care about them.
If you visit Phuket, I highly recommend you schedule a half-day tour at the Phuket Elephant Park. The tour includes transportation, English speaking tour guide, and vegetarian breakfast and lunch.

Wow, thank you so much for this 5-star review @ToyaT! Srinuan is our first rescue and it is from animal-loving visitors like you that we are able to rescue and provide for our elephants' needs.

The Phuket Elephant Park treats the elephants really well. They don’t require them to work or carry tourists for long hours.. The tour was educational and you got to learn the history each elephant. These amazing creatures live as long as humans. This is a wonderful place that truly cares about elephants.

If you want to ride or bathe with elephants. Dont come to this park. The elephants here are really cared for and don't have to work until they die.
Other parks claim to be for retired elephants, but the owners still profit from them by making them give rides or bathe with tourists. Why would anyone want to get in a pool full of dirty water and elephant waste?
You can still get up close to the elephants here and watch them feed. The sick and elderly are well cared for and given the necessary medication to help them. One 71 year old elephant has trouble standing as is assured with a sling, otherwise she wouldn't be able to get up and eat.
This park needs your support. Don't go to the other parks where they are made to work. Come here and let them save more elephants.
