Do you have to book to see the poppies or can you just turn up ?

You should be able to just turn up but I would contact the museum directly to confirm.

The poppies were displayed after our visit. However, I understand from a friend who has posted on Facebook that there is a lovely display and these are visible from outside the museum.

Previous reviewers recommend the airshard or viewing platform but when I visited today there was no mention of this or access to it. I didn't have much time so didn't ask and spent the time in the exhibition but is the viewing platform still open?

Yes definitely- had quite a few interactive exhibits and presentation very child friendly especially if parents read the information and discuss with the children. The film shows are really interesting, too.

Sorry for the late reply. Admission is free to IWM North so you can walk-in anytime - we are open 10am-5pm everyday. You can also buy advance tickets for our special paid exhibition. For more info visit our website. Thanks.
