We had such a lovely time at the gardens. The weather was amazing which made it an even better experience. The gardens were beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the cafe the food was good and the cafe was nice and clean. I will be definitely going again . The house was interesting and the glass house was amazing with amazing plants and orchids. I would highly recommend this as a visit.

Really enjoyed it. They set up children’s treasure hunt which the kids really enjoyed. Clues were clever and based on unusual plant names which made it enjoyable and interesting to explore Very memorable experience. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our visit.
The flowers and other planting were an absolute delight. The grounds were very interesting with different very individual areas and everywhere was in great condition.
The cafe was excellent, with high quality food at reasonable prices and quickly served. The NT could learn a great deal from this efficient operation.
I am very glad we chose to come here rather than the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Really wonderful place to visit, but unfortunately late getting there ,It was is a wo nderful place to visit , but had an OAP in tow , no discount for age ,We arrived at 3.20 p , had something to eat , then home (80 mile round trip) no discount whatsoever for elderly visitor,and the very little time we spent there !

What an amazing place from start to finish ! Special touches everywhere even a hand picked vase of flowers in the ladies washroom ! Immaculately tended paths and gardens ! A wow around every corner the diversity of plants was amazing ! Tearoom worth a visit freshly prepared home cooked food it had arrived at our table almost as soon as we paid ! Would recommend!

The gardens are lovely, not too demanding to walk around.
There are some holiday cottages there but not sure if that gives you any out of hours access - be lovely if they did.
My only disappointment is that the steps being taken to control wasps at the tearooms are not working. Not sure what the solution is but I can't stand them so I legged it after half a cup of tea.

Its a few years since we visited this garden so we were happy to stop by again to break our journey across Wales.
Lots of interest, walled garden, historic Elizabethan parterre, lots of colour and a pond.
A few steps but most can be avoided.

I had intended to spend just a few hours here, but it truly is one of the best gardens I've visited. The plants are beautiful and the garden is well maintained.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
I visited the tea room for lunch and again for an afternoon coffee. Both were delicious.
My only criticism is there aren't too many name plates for the plants. With so many fantastic varieties of acers, cercis and dalias I would have liked to have known what they were.

The visit to the garden did not start well and deteriorated from there. The anachronistic and frankly sexist process of adding Gift Aid was very upsetting for the female member of the party. Inside the lack of information regarding the confusion of paths and the absence of information regarding the identity of the plants was most frustrating. I understand that it is under new ownership/management and is a work in progress. I hope that some printed information regarding the history of the house and gardens and which direction is being followed for the future along with a comprehensive look at plant identification and signage are high on the adgenda.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Could you please get in touch with us directly or give us some feedback on how the gift aid process is sexist as it is a standard procedure that we have to follow as a charity.
In regards to the confusion of paths. Did you pick up a map when you arrived? This is not something we have come across in comments before.
In relation to the history, there's information already in a printed form in the guide book available in the shop. There's also a comprehensive video which shows on a loop in the side room of the mansion which illustrates a full history of Aberglasney, there's also display boards that show the history time line.

I believe this house once belonged to our family and that at some point it was lost over a bet and a duel ensued there was a mention of gold coins being handed over at the the time and due to not speaking english the house was lost to the family as deeds were in english the house has not had good luck since maybe for just this reason

Only blind dogs i'm afraid, there are hundreds of beautiful walks around the outside of Aberglasney, the whole area is steeped in history with stunning views.

Lost in Time, a book about the history of Aberglasney, published in 1999, says the gardens are very difficult to find, not marked from the A40. Over the past 16 years that may have changed. Is there signage? Is it fairly easy to find this place?

Thank you for your interest in Aberglasney. Since 'A Garden Lost in Time' was written the Gardens have changed a great deal. We are signposted and just a few minutes off the A40 at Broad Oak (around 5 minutes from the town of Llandeilo) - very easy to find. If you're using sat nav the postcode is SA32 8QH. You'll find lots of useful information on the Gardens on our website but if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to get in touch 0044 1558 668998. If you're looking for accommodation in the area we have two beautiful self catering cottages on the edge of the Gardens that you may like to consider.
