I went on the 7.30pm Sunset 1.5hr Cruise on the PS Melbourne. It departs 3 times a day. It is such a nostalgic experience to travel on a REAL Paddle STEAMER ran by steam, not Diesel. You can see the female engineer stock the fire with firewood. Listen to the informative commentary or You can enjoy a coffee and cake or light refreshments. Overall a Magical Experience Everyone Young and Old should try while we still have the PS Melbourne in town...

A very enjoyable 2 hour cruise down thru the lock and up river. The captains talk was very informative.

Had an excellent 2 hour cruise and saw the Lock operation and some great views of the Murray from the water.
Well priced, good food on board, including fresh sandwiches and cakes.
Great commentary from the Captain.
2 cruises a day I believe.

My wife and I recently did a Thursday morning cruise on the Murray River aboard the Rothbury. It cost us $36 per adult.
Out of the three that are operated by the same company, this was the only one in operation. They have only recently recommenced river cruises because of the Covid pandemic. The bonus was, being in NSW waters we were permitted to remove our face masks.
We booked the day before at the Mildura Information Centre in Deakin Street to be advised that the Thursday afternoon cruise was cancelled. Sure enough the morning cruise was almost full of patronage.
The cruise started in Mildura city, ventured through Lock 11 and in the direction of Merbein for a return trip of two hours. The young captain provided great commentary throughout the cruise.
Overall a nice relaxing and interesting cruise.

Did the Thursday evening dinner and sunset cruise. It was a very relaxing evening and a good length to cover dinner, cruising and photos. There was a singer on board who was pleasing to listen to and not intrusive. Dinner was good - a spit roast with veggies and baked potato. Servings were ample and a choice of desserts followed. Plenty of room on board so that you could move around with ease and a choice of seating areas. Staff were friendly and I would highly recommend this cruise.

Did the evening dinner cruise on the Rothbury.
Staff were fantastic entertained us along the way. We had a guy singing who was very good. We were up dancing and having a great time. The cruise down the river was relaxing. We went out on deck to take photos and enjoy the breeze in the evening. This cruise was up stream to Trentham winery area. Watched a beautiful sunset. Very reasonably priced and the catering was very good. Drinks were available for purchase on board.

a beautiful way to see the mighty Murray River. Great scenery, great views of Mildura and surrounds. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing.

This was a relaxing and informative two hour Cruise on this steam driven Paddle Wheel Boat. The descriptive narrative of the river, the wild life and the operation of the lock were excellent. Be sure to speak to the "engineer" about the workings of the wood fired steam engine... it is in immaculate condition. The best views of the river and the lock operation are from the deck chairs in front of the wheel house. The weather on this afternoon was perfect and we left the boat wishing that the cruise was longer.

Our group had a two hour tour and we certainly took lots of photos. We also went through the lock which is very interesting if you haven't done that before. There was also good commentary from the Captain of the boat. The boats themselves are wonderful and do take you back to an earlier time in our history.

We took the two hour afternoon cruise on PS Melbourne and really enjoyed the experience. This has the original wood fired steam boiler and you can see it fully in action- a great sight for any machinery buffs ! The trip is a leisurely affair and there is a great commentary of the history of the boat, the river, the development of the area with paddle steamers etc. The trip through Lock 11 was a great insight into the engineering involved in making the river a commercial success story. There is also the birdlife, the calm of the river, and the whole leisurely procession of the trip. A great experience.... and a great way to fill in the day !

Depends if you want to BYO or purchase and Dinner & Show or just buy the snack. Can be purchased on the day from Dock or calling them.
