At Maafushi Dive I got my PADI open water in 3 days and it was fantastic! They offer the possibility to do an e-learning in advance to shorten the course a day. The e-learning was very well furnished. The dives were very good, under the guidance of Nafoo there was plenty of room to practice and patience if something did not work out. We've seen everything we hoped for. Everything was prepared and arranged to perfection, very nice experience that I can recommend to everyone!

The dive center exceeded my expectations. I took the AOWD course and from online booking to receiving my certificate I enjoyed the interaction with the
Maafushi Dive & Water Sports.
Both on land and in the water there was a constant sense of safety, order, care and ease of communication. Thank you so much Nicole, you are a wonderful instructor!

The Maldives was breathtaking, and our guide, Christy , made sure I had the best experience possible. He was adaptable, knowledgeable, and great company. Underwater, he let me explore freely while making sure I didn’t miss any highlights. The boat was comfortable, and the dive shop was well-organized. Highly recommend this dive shop!

The divining in the Maldives is spectacular, and I want to highlight how excellent our guide, Sam, was. Once we got to know him a bit, he opened up and we had some lovely conversations. Underwater, he was the appropriate balance of attentive and relaxed based on our dive experience. He was quite adaptable to only get our attention for certain things and let us explore for the rest. The boat was roomy and the shop was in good order. Unfortunately, there were some marked issues that we couldn’t get our head around. From the first time we walked in there was a sense of us almost being intrusive in thier day. As we had booked/paid in advance, I thought there may have been some welcome or acknowledgment, but we were apparently a surprise to the staff. Details were lose and the experience on the boat was wildly variable. Out of 3 days, we got one boat briefing (on the last day, oddly), we got coffee/tea twice, and the amenities (snacks and parka/towels) were sometimes yes and sometimes no. It was odd that there was no consistency or explanation, and we were left to fend for ourselves most of the time. Fresh water bucket for camera/masks, use of the head, use of the deck, fresh water shower, mask defog/soap… all things we had to find on our own or just take a guess. Not to get it twisted, I dive on my own with zero creature comforts and have over 2K+ dives, so these things are not mandated on any dive experience. However, I’ve never been on a boat or with a dive operator that HAS amenities/services and not told us about them, how to use them, or where they are. It felt like managment had set the bar high and the staff were not engaged enough to bring us into the fold. Dive briefings were communal, rushed, and felt perfunctory. As if they were meant to release the staff of liability vs provide dive information. Again, we could have jumped in and gone just the two of us, but it felt very odd that everything was being “phoned in”. To be clear, our guide Sam was not the problem, but the staff that checked us in, ran the boat experience, and ran our experience at the shop were very disengaged. End of the day- the dives were excellent, they were safe, the rented gear was in good shape, and my personal gear was tended to and cleaned. When I put it that way, it’s a 5/5. However, it felt like we were just tagging along at someone else’s party and had to raise our hand to get any answers, so I have to pull back for quality of service.
One last item, non shop related. Lea Spa Hotel (I can review separately) is to be regarded as a very basic hotel one notch above hostel. Nothing unsafe, but we checked out after one night. I’ve stayed at many of these in my time and dicing career, but it (like the shop) suffers from setting the bar too high with marketing.
If the entire experience were marketed as “budget dive excursions/accommodation in a world class location”… we would have known exactly what we were in for and could have had right sized expectations or chose otherwise. I find that dive operations/accommodations who overstate but underdeliver do not last in the long run as this is a competitive industry.

terrible customer service, the owner seems to be on some kind of drugs and continuously criticising me on whatsapp even after í'm being very polite in the first place, i've misread the message he sent me and the reply i got was 'you ask dumb questions' and he even tell me to fxxk off. do not even bother to contact them if you don't wish to be told off.

I spent a week in Maafushi and did the scuba diving activities with Maafushi dive. It was great and also fun. It’s an amazing team that makes you always feel safe underwater. We really enjoyed spending time with them - it was great!

If you want to dive in amazing locations in North Ari Atoll in the Maldives, you have to go to the NaKai dive center in Maayafushi.
I made nine dives with the two heads of the dive who in addition to obtaining the advance padi patent have been able to combine their experience in teaching without losing the charm of the fantastic locations they went to see. A special note I dedicate to night diving not to be missed on the bottom of Maaya Thila. to see both at night and during the day. The guys of the dive are exceptional! a special mention to Stefano Zenoni who followed me for the duration of my stay and the manager of the Nakai Dive Federico Piu. always very kind and attentive to the needs of the sub ah almost forgot Laura who approached and passionated my daughter to this sport. Ps to try Their Suez underwater scooter at 2 knots amazing!
