The Historic Provincial Park itself is tiny and easy to miss. I imagine there are interesting displays in the caboose, but it was closed when we were there. That said, keep in mind that this is the site of the oldest railway in BC. And Seton Portage is a wonderful place to visit. If you don't have a 4x4, you can take the road from Carpenter Lake over Mission Ridge. We drove it in dry summer weather and it was no problem. Just take it slow. What beautiful views and it's fascinating to know there are huge pipes (called penstocks) tunnelled right through the mountain to a power plant on Seton Lake.

For the backroad, 4x4 lovers, try the wilderness route from Lillooet through Seton Portage to Darcy. Drive through the tunnel at Terzaghi Dam, the first one you will come to. Amazing high mountain scenery overlooking the turquoise waters of Seton, Anderson and Carpenter lakes. Unbelievable views of the hydro-electric dams and infrastructure. We loved the First Nations art work on supporting pillars at Seton Portage. You are looking at about a 2.5 - 3 hr drive to Darcy and on to Pemberton. Well worth the adventure.

I don't really wish to write a review for Seton as it would be horrible to turn it into a tourist attraction - its best as it is, quiet, peaceful, and above all beautiful. We took a long drive from Vancouver with family and spent an hour on the rough track that is the high line. Some fantastic views and we saw our first bear from about 2 metres away. A wonderful place where you really are in the wilderness. We climbed to the summit of Mission Ridge and it was amazing.
Like I said - please don't come here!!

Amazing drive from Seton Portage. One of the best drives with great view in Mountains. The view of two huge lakes are breathtaking. Seton Portage is an historic rural community in British Columbia, Canada, that is about 25 km west of Lillooet, located between Seton Lake and Anderson Lake. If you want to take this trip i would sagest to skip Lillooet and drive straight from Pemberton but both roads have a great view.

The park is located west of Lillooet along the Seton River between Anderson and Seton Lakes. It is a gravel bed campground better for Rv than tents. There are picnic tables and pit toilets. The area is historic as it was the location of the first railway in the province of British Columbia. We drove to Seton Lake which is very beautiful with its rugged mountain backdrop and had a swim. It was so hot that we enjoyed the not so warm water. The beach is really nice with picnic tables.
