This is a nice architecture where the bridge goes over the water. So it was good to take some photos there and look out over the water.

For me it was just a nice building arching over the street. I found it to be nicer at night when it was lited.

In effetti non so se sia la Porta più grande ma da quello che ho potuto vedere mi sembra di sì. Vi si accede dalla importante Dlugi Targ e poi subito dopo averla oltrepassata c'è lo Zielony Most (il Ponte Verde, immagino dal nome della Porta) che porta alla Ulica Stagiewna, altra importante Via del Centro. La Porta ha questo nome perché inizialmente la sua facciata era verde, attualmente al suo interno ci sono alcuni appartamenti/uffici dove lavorò anche Lech Walesa quando era Presidente della Polonia, mentre non fu mai abitata dai reali polacchi; costruita in stile olandese come molte parti della Città e del suo Centro Storico ha quattro grandi passaggi di uguale grandezza che consentivano e consentono un facile passaggio a persone ed automezzi.

There are 2 gates at the ends of the Long Street ( The Green Gate and Golden Gate). No idea why it is called green though.

Ingången till Gamla Stan i Gdansk. Vacker byggnad och fullt av liv och rörelse i närheten. Väl värt att stanna till en stund när man passerar.

Piękny budynek szczególnie nieco z daleka robi wrażenie. Przez niego dostaniemy się wgłąb starówki a pod jego arkadami często grają studenci na wiolonczeli czy skrzypcach co w otoczeniu tego gmachu robi niesamowite wrażenie.

The Green Gate of the Main Town is probably the oldest water gate of Gdansk, mentioned in 1357. The Green Gate is the first example of Dutch Mannerism in Gdansk, a style that gave the city its characteristic beauty. It was built in 1564–1568 by Regnier from Amsterdam and Hans Kramer from Dresden , as the Gdansk residence of the Polish kings. Along with the Golden Gate and Wyzynna Gate , it was connected with Dluga street and Dluga Targ Square , known as the Royal Road. Further, through the Green Bridge, Stagiewna Gate route led to Elblag and Krolewiec. Despite its purpose, the Green Gate did not host Polish kings. Today, the gate houses the exhibition department of the National Museum in Gdansk and the Gdansk Photo Gallery. Temporary exhibitions, various meetings, conferences and shows are organized here. In one of the rooms of the Green Gate was the office of former President of the Third Republic of Poland Lech Walesa.The largest and one of the most impressive buildings at Dlugi Targ Square. The largest of the city's water gates. Every day, thousands of people pass through the gate. You can often listen to street musicians here.
