An indoor market with many small shops. Here you can find most clothes, shoes, accessories, food, cakes, fruit... However, I missed a place to buy wine to go with the food. Worth a visit

The Gdansk market hall, the Hala Targowa, is an impressive building from the 19th century. With its red brick and wrought iron decorations, it exudes a nostalgic charm that transports visitors to another time. The hall is bustling with life. Countless stalls offer delicious, fresh local food: fruit and vegetables, meat and sausages, cheese and bread. The scents of spices and herbs mix with the hubbub of the traders and shoppers.
In recent years, however, the Hala Targowa has changed. In addition to the traditional stalls, there are now more and more sellers of souvenirs, clothing and electronics. This change may correspond to the modern spirit of the times, but it massively tarnishes the original character of the market hall.
The charm of the Hala Targowa lies in its authenticity. It is a place where you can experience the local culture and way of life. In my opinion, the sale of foreign products detracts from the experience and dilutes the atmosphere of a classic (food) market.
It would be desirable for Hala Targowa to retain its traditional character. The food stalls should continue to be in the foreground and form the core of the market hall. Souvenirs and other products may be offered as a supplement, but should not take over.
Hala Targowa is a gem in Gdansk that needs to be protected. Only if it preserves its special style will it remain a popular attraction for tourists and locals in the future.

The clothing market upstairs so-so, very good cheeses and charcuterie downstairs. Semi-nice place to stroll around for a while if you have nothing else to do.

Gdansk Market Hall occupies a nice building close to the city centre. Originally built in 1896, the building survived WW II with few damages, but was not valued during the 1950s and 1960s, until it was listed as a registered monument. It was then renovated and reopened in 2005, and it still holds several market stands over three floors.
Ground floor and first floor are occupied almost exclusively by stands selling clothes, mainly for women.
The underground floor has several food stands, mainly selling Polish specialties.
Also, on the underground floor, some remains are visible, of the former Dominican abbey that occupied the area.
Outside the Market Hall, and all around it, additional stands can be found, selling mainly fruit & vegetables.

Si tratta di un mercato coperto posizionato in prossimità del Centro di Danzica dove è possibile acquistare generi alimentari di vario genere (carne, pesce, alimentari in genere) e dove può capitare di trovare anche qualche capo di abbigliamento interessante a prezzi decenti (a me è capitato), Nel sotto piano c'è una zona dove sono in vista gli scavi sui quali è stata costruita questa struttura.

This hall is one of the most interesting historic buildings in Gdansk and was built on the site of a former Dominican monastery. The unique atmosphere of the place. This nineteenth-century market hall, was opened in 1896. Currently, the hall offers a variety of goods and food, as well as industrial goods including clothing. Fresh vegetables, fruits and colorful flowers can be found at countless stands . Stalls offering also meat and fish products. Shopping in the Hall is really a pleasure. Big selection of goods and friendly service. All this makes this place acquire a unique character and it is worth going here when visiting Gdansk.I honestly recommend it.

レンガ作りのがっしりした外観の建物です。中は明るく近代的、２階の窓から明るい光が降り注ぎます。１階、２階に衣類や雑貨。地下に肉やパンやお菓子の食料品が売っています。場外市場では新鮮な野菜や果物が売っていました。

Came across this lovely iron framed market hall after looking at the Great Mill.
It has a basement containing remains of an old church (or is it part of the old city wall?) There is a long description but not in English/
Wide range of fruit and veg plus every concievable type of meat.
Continues in stalls outside.
Of limited interest to tourists.

As an American with a favorable exchange rate, I would say yes. I don't know how it is for the Polish people. I did thonk some of the clothing was expensive. I have some pictures in which you can see some prices. They are in zloty, using kg as the weight, so you have to decide for yoyrself. It is a very very old marketplace, so must be good to have survived for so long.
