We stopped at a few different spots along Nile street. It’s a great spot to have a meal or a coffee while overlooking the Blue Nile. Plan to spend a bit of time though because the service can be slow.

My favorite street in Khartoum. Ever green and coolish anytime of the year as it is directly by the Nile river. You pass by a few of the historical old buildings in Khartoum: ex the Presidential Palace, the Old Sudan-Hotel, University of Khartoum....etc. generally well-maintained and green. There are a few river-side coffee-shops, not trendy more on the traditional side, but pleasant.

During the days I was in Khartoum there was a heavy military presence along the ministry buildings and palace along Nile street. Walking was restricted in certain parts. Can walk along the river or jog but it's filthy- so much rubbish on the ground. Could do with a big clean up. Some parts of the street are nicer than other parts.

This street is popular because is near blue Nile river. Always traffic and lot of cars on this area.

Can’t Tel other places I enjoy coffee all the day with others or alone
So many good coffee maker all around many kilometers along the shore of the blue, white and main river NILE
It’s also good for hookup & networking

Some friends and I decided to hang out at one of the bars on Nile Street, probably the most popular street in Khartoum. It was a pleasant time people-watching, having lovely drinks and chatting about the country and their current challenges. Do it when you're in town.

It's a road more than a street. Good gathering place at Nile. It's sort of a recent as the concept of gathering places with view is recent in Sudan, so there are many restaurants and cafes on a side of this road and many hotels, land marks and buildings on another side, and all with and without Nile view .

Il lungo nilo di Khartoum è alquanto diverso da quello cairota , presentandosi molto più movimentato con l'isola di Tuti in mezzo , meno largo e verdegggiante con un lungo viale alberato fra vecchie ville con un'atmosfera piacevole e rilassante , molto più frequentato di sera che di giorno per la sua frescura.Il tratto migliore è quello che va dall'imbarcadero per l' isola di Tuti di fronte all'Hilton e alla confluenza dei due nili dove di giorno si può facilmente individuare la differenza nel colore dell'acqua ,blu quello blu grigio scuro quello bianco, fino al palazzo presidenziale mentre di sera la gente vi si sosta molto volentieri nei piccoli bar all'aperto per un economico tè. Pochi sono i tipici barconi con ristoranti e locali night ormeggiati come quelli del Cairo . E' molto poco valorizzato, ad esempio vi è tirato a secco a trenta metri dalla riva il Melik , la storica cannoniera del Generale Kitchener, passeggiando ci si passa davanti senza vederla , occorre saperlo, perche da fuori il posto sembra un club per nautica da diporto. Lo stesso succede sulla riva opposta dove è in fase di restauro un altro famoso battello della flottigilia del generale Gordon ,il Bordein carico anch'esso di storia contro la guerra mahadista e l'assedio di Omdurman del 1894 il teatro delle gesta narrate nel film " The four feathers" . Molti pescatori tirano le loro reti sulle due rive ,caratteristici i traghetti del tipo coloniale a due ponti che fungono da bus. .Dal Cairo a Khartoum ci sono circa 1650 km e si sentono tutti. data per postare .
